  • Publication number: 20170163486
Abstract: A cable modem termination system (CMTS) may determine, for a plurality of cable modems served by the CMTS, a corresponding plurality of SNR-related metrics. The CMTS may assigning the modems among a plurality of service groups based on the SNR-related metrics. For any one of the modems, the CMTS may configure physical layer communication parameters to be used by the one of the modems based on a SNR-related metric of a service group to which the one of the modems is assigned. The physical layer communication parameters may include one or more of: transmit power, receive sensitivity, timeslot duration, modulation type, modulation order, forward error correction (FEC) type, and FEC code rate. The CMTS and the modems may communicate using orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) over a plurality of subcarriers, and the physical layer communication parameters may be determined on a per-subcarrier basis.

  • Publication number: 20170156604
Abstract: An apparatus comprises plurality of sensors and a processor. Each sensor provides a sensor signal that includes physiological information and at least one sensor is implantable. The processor includes a physiological change event detection module that detects a physiological change event from a sensor signal and produces an indication of occurrence of one or more detected physiological change events, and a heart failure (HF) detection module. The HF detection module determines, using a first rule, whether the detected physiological change event indicative of a change in HF status of a subject, determines whether to override the first rule HF determination using a second rules, and declares whether the change in HF status occurred according to the first and second rules.

  • Publication number: 20170163663
Abstract: A system detects a security attack through a network-based application. The system receives a runtime request for invocation of a function and dynamically determines if the request for invocation of the function is associated with a cross-site scripting attack. In response to determine the function is associated with a cross-site scripting attack, the system stores information associated with the request, which is used for determining if the request is a legitimate request or a cross-site scripting attack.

  • Patent number: 9671485
Abstract: A high resolution data acquisition (DAQ) system is initially calibrated with a reference source having a resolution higher than the DAQ system. Measurements over the operating range of the DAQ system are taken, and characteristic calibration coefficients are determined from the measurements. Software corrections based upon the calibration coefficients are made to DAQ system measurements. A digital to analog converter (DAC) on-board the DAQ system having a lower resolution than the DAQ system is calibrated by generating a look-up table of input digital codewords and output electrical signals measured by the calibrated DAQ system. This look-up table is used to field calibrate the DAQ system using only the DAC, rather than the high resolution reference source.

  • Patent number: 9674840
Abstract: Methods and devices for improving performance on a wireless communication device having at least a first subscriber identity module (SIM) and a radio frequency (RF) resource may include detecting, on a modem stack associated with the first SIM, an active communication in a first network that supports high speed downlink packet access (HSDPA). During the active communication in the first network, the wireless communication device may detect a signal disruption period, and determine whether an operational downlink mode for the modem stack associated with the first SIM does not match a corresponding downlink mode represented in the first network. Upon determining that the operational downlink mode for the modem stack associated with the first SIM does not match the corresponding downlink mode represented in the first network, the wireless communication device may trigger an internal instruction to transition to a new downlink mode.

  • Patent number: 9662073
Abstract: Systems and methods for detecting a present, or predicting a future, target physiologic event such as worsening heart failure (HF) are described. A system can comprise a patient information receiver circuit, at least two categorical risk analyzer circuits, and a categorical fusion circuit. The patient information receiver circuit receives physiologic signals and generates signal trends. The categorical risk analyzer circuit receives a category-specific input selected from the signal trends according to an associative physiologic condition indicative or correlative of the target event. The categorical risk analyzer circuit produces a signal trend metric indicating relative change in signal strength over time. The categorical risk analyzer circuit calculates a categorical risk index that indicates likelihood of the patient developing or presenting the associative physiologic condition.

  • Patent number: 9665840
Abstract: An embodiment of the present disclosure receives a respective set of input messages from a corresponding source system, with the messages of each set of input messages being received in a corresponding chronological (time) order. The input messages are processed using parallel processing approaches to generate corresponding output messages, with each output message being generated for delivery to a corresponding destination system. The destination system for each output message is identified only during such processing of the input messages. The output messages are queued and an output message to a destination system is transmitted only after output messages of all prior input messages from the same source system to the destination system are transmitted, while permitting output messages generated by processing of input messages from different source systems being permitted to be transmitted out-of-sequence.
