  • Publication number: 20240096509
Abstract: We describe, herein, a new class of controlled fusion machines that are expected to successfully implement confinement of the hot plasma using a set of electric and magnetic fields. It includes usage of electrostatic charges along with a large ratio of the concentration of positively charged nuclei to the concentration of negatively charged electrons. It would lead to a stable steady state with a very high Q value that is expected to be orders of magnitude higher than achieved so far by any of the controlled fusion machines. Even though usage of superconductors or near superconductors is not necessary to achieve this performance, it is desirable to use superconductors for optimal performance. So, in some of the preferred embodiments of the invention, superconductor or near superconductor structures are built into the design of the machine itself, even though, it is possible to just use superconductors or near superconductors as stand-alone components in the machine.

  • Patent number: 11934515
Abstract: A system for inoculating a computer network against malware is described. Specifically, environmental indicators used by anti-analysis and target filtering mechanisms of a malware program may be determined based on analysis within a virtual or physical sandbox environment. The environmental indicators may be sent to computing devices associated with the computing network. The malware program, based on the environmental indicators, may be spoofed to assume that a computing device is associated with an anti-malware system, and/or is a device that is not to be infected. Based on this assumption, the malware program may not execute within the computing device.

  • Publication number: 20240089248
Abstract: A method, apparatus, and computer-readable medium are described that enable agent instances to be instantiated in secure, containerized environments. When a new container is detected, a list of agent instances expected to be running in a compute instance or in a container may be obtained and compared with status information regarding which agent instances are active. For a non-active agent instance, an agent object and configuration information for the agent instance may be obtained from a storage. Based on the available name, the agent object, and the configuration information, the agent instance may be instantiated and connected to an agent status server. An application related to the new agent instance may be deployed in the secure containerized environment.

  • Publication number: 20240081975
Abstract: Particular embodiments disclosed herein provide an alignment guide for aligning a toric IOL during surgery. An image with a reference axis is obtained, such as from a digital microscope, and processed, such as using an autoencoder, to label alignment marks on the IOL and possibly other features of the IOL. The label is processed, such as using a logistic regression model, to estimate an IOL axis of the IOL intersecting the alignment marks. An output image is generated from the image that has superimposed thereon guides to a surgeon, such as a line representing the IOL axis, a rotation direction indicator, and a number or other representation of a difference between the reference axis and the IOL axis. Tracking of features of the IOL may be performed across multiple images to predict the location of features not represented in a particular image.

  • Publication number: 20240089234
Abstract: Automated techniques for converting network devices from a Layer 2 (L2) network into a Layer 3 (L3) network in a hierarchical manner are described herein. The network devices may be configured to boot such that their ports are in an initialization mode in which the ports are unable to transmit locally generated DHCP packets. When a network device detects that a neighbor (or “peer”) device has acquired an IP address or has been configured by a network controller, then the port on which the neighbor device is detected can then be transitioned from the initialization mode into a forwarding mode. In the forwarding mode, the port can be used to transmit packets to obtain an IP address. Thus, the network devices are converted from an L2 device to an L3 device in a hierarchical order such that upstream devices are discovered and converted into L3 devices before downstream devices.
