  • Patent number: 10166259
Abstract: A method for isolation of exosomes from bovine colostrum powder or goat colostrum powder, and the use of the isolated exosomes as nano carriers for small drug molecules, is described. Exosomes isolated from bovine colostrum powder averaged <85 nm in size, carried the surface-bound protein markers, Alix, TSG101, CD63 and CD81, and accepted various lipophilic (curcumin, withaferin A, paclitaxel) and hydrophilic (anthocyanidins) agents to serve as a nano carrier.

  • Patent number: 9968882
Abstract: A heat transfer fluid can be used as part of a multi-phase adsorption environment to allow for improved separations of gas components using a solid adsorbent. The heat transfer fluid can reduce or minimize the temperature increase of the solid adsorbent that occurs during an adsorption cycle. Reducing or minimizing such a temperature increase can enhance the working capacity for an adsorbent and/or enable the use of adsorbents that are not practical for commercial scale adsorption using conventional adsorption methods. The multi-phase adsorption environment can correspond to a trickle bed environment, a slurry environment, or another convenient environment where at least a partial liquid phase of a heat transfer fluid is present during gas adsorption by a solid adsorbent.

  • Publication number: 20180069901
Abstract: Systems and methods are described for providing cloud-based virtual local networks. A computerized method for providing cloud-based virtual local networks includes receiving at a network gateway a request for a network address from a network switch, communicating with a user device management entity (uDME) server to authorize the network switch, receiving an authorization response from the uDME server for the network switch, receiving a network address pool at the network gateway from the uDME server, and creating at the network gateway a virtual home router containing a virtual home router context that is unique to the virtual home router and associated with the network address pool.

  • Publication number: 20170305744
Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for separating oxygen from air using a sorption/desorption cycle that includes a reduced or minimized difference between the maximum and minimum pressures involved in the sorption/desorption cycle. The reduced or minimized difference in pressures can be achieved in part by using valves that can allow for commercial scale flow rates while avoiding large pressure drops for flows passing through the valves. A rotary wheel adsorbent is an example of a system that can allow for a sorption/desorption cycle with reduced and/or minimized pressure drops across valves associated with the process. Stationary adsorbent beds can also be used in combination with commercially available valves that have reduced and/or minimized pressure drops.

  • Publication number: 20170009652
Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for combined cycle power generation while reducing or mitigating emissions during power generation. Recycled exhaust gas from a power generation combustion reaction can be separated using a swing adsorption process so as to generate a high purity CO2 stream while reducing/minimizing the energy required for the separation and without having to reduce the temperature of the exhaust gas. This can allow for improved energy recovery while also generating high purity streams of carbon dioxide and nitrogen.

  • Patent number: 9298933
Abstract: Embodiments described herein generally relate to creating an autonomous role-based security system for a database management system, wherein a super user may not always be required. A computer-implemented method is described. The method includes establishing one or more privileges in a database system, each privilege controlling access to an administrative function for the database system. Each privilege is assigned to one or more roles. Each role may always have a minimum set of users with only administrative rights over the role. A request is received from a first user to grant a role to a second user. A database management system determines whether the first user has administrative privileges over the role. If the first user has administrative privileges over the role, the role is granted to the second user. The database system may satisfy the principles of least privilege and separation of duties.
