    Abstract: A method for determining expression levels of multiple mRNAs in single, dying cells from a selected tissue is provided. The method utilizes terminal deoxynucleotidyl-transferase mediated biotin-dUTP nick end labeling to identify dying cells and measures multiple mRNA expression levels in single, isolated dying cells or portions thereof by amplified antisense RNA techniques.
