  • Patent number: 11330204
Abstract: Examples are described of automatic exposure timing synchronization. An imaging system includes a first image sensor configured to capture a first image according to a first exposure timing, including by exposing first region of interest (ROI) image data at the first image sensor for a first ROI exposure time period. Based on the first exposure timing, the imaging system sets a second exposure timing for a second image sensor to capture a second image. Capture of the second image according to the second exposure timing includes exposure of second ROI image data at the second image sensor for a second ROI exposure time period. The second exposure timing may be set so that the start of the second ROI exposure time period aligns with the start of the first ROI exposure time period, and/or so that the first and second ROI exposure time periods overlap.

  • Patent number: 11140375
Abstract: In some aspects, the present disclosure provides a method for sharing a single optical sensor between multiple image processors. In some embodiments, the method includes receiving, at a control arbiter, a first desired configuration of a first one or more desired configurations for capturing an image frame by the optical sensor, the first one or more desired configurations communicated from a primary image processor. The method may also include receiving, at the control arbiter, a second desired configuration of a second one or more desired configurations for capturing the image frame by the optical sensor, the second one or more desired configurations communicated from a secondary image processor. The method may also include determining, by the control arbiter, an actual configuration for capturing the image frame by the optical sensor, the actual configuration based on the first desired configuration and the second desired configuration.

  • Patent number: 9047090
Abstract: In the various aspects, virtualization techniques may be used to improve performance and reduce the amount of power consumed by translating virtual memory addresses into physical addresses on a computing system having hybrid memory. In a first stage of memory translation, an operating system translates virtual addresses to intermediate physical addresses. In a second stage of memory translation, a chip or virtualization software translates the intermediate physical address to physical addresses based on the characteristics of the physical memory and the characteristics of the processes associated with the physical memory.

  • Patent number: 8971883
Abstract: The disclosure is directed to managing registration of a wireless communication device (WCD) operating in a wireless network. The WCD may support registration according to a signaling protocol, such as session initiation protocol (SIP). The WCD adjusts a registration timer based on network quality experienced by the WCD. When network quality is poor, for example, the WCD reduces the length of the registration timer. Reduced network quality may indicate that the WCD is at risk of losing network coverage. By reducing the length of the registration timer when network quality is degraded, stale registrations for out-of-coverage WCDs can be reduced. In particular, the shortened registration timer will expire more quickly, permitting the registration to be cleared more quickly. Consequently, the amount of call forwarding and other resources devoted to stale registrations can be reduced. If the WCD retains network coverage, it can maintain a registration by sending another registration request.

  • Patent number: 6898212
Abstract: A Base Station Controller (BSC) that reduces the occurrence of audible noise in a Code Division Multiple Access (CDMA) radio network is provided. The BSC according to one embodiment of the present invention comprises a Media Stream Board (MSB) for compressing groups of 160 PCM speech samples from a Public Switch Telephone Network (PSTN) into vocoded frames, and a Special Purpose Board (SPB) for reformatting the vocoded frames from the MSB into over-the-air CDMA vocoded frames. The MSB and SPB each have a local timer that is slave to “PSTN time”. The BSC further comprises a Timing Unit Board (TUB) connected to a GPS receiver. The TUB receives “GPS time” from the GPS receiver. The TUB generates timing cells, each containing time-of-day information according to “GPS time”. The TUB distributes the timing cells to the MSB and the SPB over an Asynchronous Transfer Mode (ATM) network. The MSB and SPB use the received timing cells to compare their local timer, which tracks “PSTN time”, to “GPS time”.
