  • Publication number: 20050250890
Abstract: The present invention relates to a filler masterbatch composition comprised of a polymer selected from an impact polypropylene, a high density polyethylene, and a polyolefin elastomer and a mineral filler and a filled thermoplastic composition produced by combining such a filer masterbatch composition with a polymer. The inventive filler masterbatch allows for a higher compounding rate, better dispersion, and elimination of a typical compounding step in the production of filled thermoplastic compositions.

  • Patent number: 5571869
Abstract: Grafted polymer particles are prepared by a free-radical addition polymerization mechanism using a flame produced by igniting a mixture of a combustible gas and an oxidant to heat at least a portion of the surface of a solid polymer particle to produce free-radicals thereon. At least one polymerizable ethylenically unsaturated monomer is contacted and reacted with the free-radicals formed on the surface of the polymer to form a graft thereon.

  • Patent number: 5079302
Abstract: A catalytic process for free radically induced polymerization and graft copolymerization of a free radically polymerizable monomer onto a compound in the presence of a free radical initiator, an organic catalyst and in the presence or absence of an organic diluent where the organic catalyst is an alkenyl substituted cyanurate or isocyanurate and composition thereof.

  • Patent number: 4699734
Abstract: The invention relates to base polyolefin compositions, and concentrates thereof adapted to be let down or diluted by addition of further polyolefin, flameproofed by incorporation therein of an organohalo flame-retardant and a metal oxide or sulfide synergist, are rendered resistant to exudation by incorporating therein the combination of an epoxy resin, an elastomeric resin, and a nucleating agent, the epoxy resin being present in an amount of from about 0.01 to about 10 percent, the elastomeric resin being present in an amount of from about 0.1 to about 20 percent, and the nucleating agent being present in an amount of from about 0.1 to about 10 percent and non-fogging molded products obtained thereby.
