    Abstract: Slurry for the coating of a cathode of lithium ion battery, wherein the slurry consists of a solid fraction and of a solvent/dispersant fraction, wherein the solid fraction consists of: (a) 90-95% by weight of a lithium metal oxide based particulate electrochemically activatable material; (b) 2-6% by weight of an acidic polyacrylate or polymethacrylate binder material; (c) 2-6% by weight of conductive particulate carbon; (d) 0-2% by weight further additives different from (a)-(c) wherein the sum of (a)-(d) make up 100% of the solid fraction and wherein the solvent/dispersant fraction consists of: (A) 5-25% by weight of an organic alcoholic solvent/dispersant; (B) 5-30% by weight of water (C) 0-5% by weight of solvents/dispersants different from (A) and (B) wherein the percentages of the solvent/dispersant fraction are relative to the 100% solids fraction.

The lithium transition metal oxide has an O3 type structure.
