    Abstract: Stable cell lines which express retinoid receptors and the insulin receptor are prepared and are useful in identifying agonists and antagonists of retinoid receptors. Agonists and antagonists of the RXR receptor can be determined using the cell lines of the invention which are producers of RXR alone; agonists and antagonists of other retinoid receptors can be determined using cell lines transfected with RXR and the desired retinoid receptor.
