  • Patent number: 9181653
Abstract: The present invention provides a method for producing modified nanofibrillated cellulose characterized by bringing cellulosic material into a fiber suspension, adsorbing a cellulose derivative or polysaccharide or polysaccharide derivative onto fibers in said fiber suspension under special conditions and subjecting the obtained fiber suspension derivative to mechanical disintegration. A modified nanofibrillated cellulose obtainable by a method of the present invention is provided. Furthermore, the invention relates to the use of said modified nanofibrillated cellulose.

  • Publication number: 20110186252
Abstract: In an engineered composite product containing cellulose fibres, cellulosic fibrillar fines and pigment, the main component of the composite product is pigment with a percentage of 40-80% by weight, the percentage of cellulosic fibrillar fines is 15-40% by weight, and the percentage of cellulose fibres is 5-30% by weight. Method of making the engineered composite product comprises the steps of combining said components in an aqueous solution and preparing the composite product by de-watering the aqueous solution. The components are combined in the aqueous solution in such proportion that the percentage of pigment in the final composite product is 40-80% by weight, the percentage of cellulosic fibrillar fines is 15-40% by weight, and the percentage of cellulose fibres is 5-30% by weight.
