  • Publication number: 20240137695
Abstract: Systems and methods are described for improving audio quality. Sensor data is received from an accelerometer of a camera. Based on measurements captured by the sensor data, a position of a lens of the camera and a current field of view (FOV) of the camera is determined. Audio beamforming is performed based on the current FOV of the camera by selecting a subset of microphones disposed on the camera to record audio based on the position of the lens and the current FOV of the camera; and activating the subset of microphones disposed on the camera, where microphones outside the selected subset of microphones are excluded from activation so that audio originating outside of the current FOV is removed.

  • Publication number: 20240118420
Abstract: Systems and methods for camera height detection include a time of flight (TOF) sensor included on a camera within a camera array that emits a signal in an array of points. After receiving a reflected signal at the TOF sensor, where the reflected signal is a bounce back of the emitted signal from at least a subset of the array of points, a distance to each respective point in the array is determined based on a time it takes to receive the reflected signal from each respective point in the array. A depth map is generated from each respective point, where the depth map provides distance measurements to objects within an environment of the camera. A vertical position of the camera is determined based on the depth map.

  • Publication number: 20240107153
Abstract: Techniques for power reduction of a camera system are disclosed. A camera system receives, via an image sensor, a video signal including a plurality of image frames, each frame including a plurality of pixels representing a plurality of objects. The camera system detects an object in an image frame and determines an amount of motion of the object by identifying and comparing the position of the object between each frame of the plurality of frames. The camera system identifies the object as belonging to a category of objects and generates a bounding box around the object. Based on the category and amount of motion, the camera system outputs a control signal to the image sensor to set a power level of the image sensor. The camera system encodes data representing the object in the bounding box at a compression level based on quality parameters associated with the category.

  • Publication number: 20240073517
Abstract: A system is provided for reducing infrared (IR) light emitting diode (LED) power in a night mode for LED operations. The system may include an input power source, one or more LEDs coupled to the input power source, an auto-exposure controller (AEC) coupled to one or more LEDs, and one or more transistor switches coupled between the one or more LEDs and the AEC. The AEC may be coupled to an image sensor of an imaging system and may configure attributes of exposure frames for the image sensor. The AEC may generate a plurality of pulses that control one or more transistor switches. The AEC may execute an algorithm that synchronizes the activation of one or more LEDs to occur during the exposure frame.

  • Publication number: 20240074011
Abstract: A method is provided for low light exposure control during night vision. The method may include actively illuminating a region by using a plurality of IR LEDs. The IR LEDs are arranged so that an IR LED of the plurality of IR LEDs covers one of a plurality of zones, which combine to cover the region. The method may also include capturing an image frame by an imaging system including an image sensor. The image frame may be made up of pixels and captured using the light originating from the plurality of IR LEDs and reflected from the region onto the image sensor. The method may also include calculating auto-exposure control (AEC) parameters for the image frame to establish an average setting, recalculating AEC parameters for a first zone the plurality of zones and adjusting the power of a first IR LED of the plurality of IR LEDs.

  • Patent number: 9348464
Abstract: An imaging system may be provided that includes a camera module, a transparent or translucent surface, and processing circuitry that is configured to perform character recognition operations based on images of the translucent surface that have been captured using the camera module. The camera module may include an image sensor having an array of image pixels and one or more lenses that focus light from the translucent surface onto the array of image pixels. The processing circuitry may be configured to recognize gestures from one or more users on the translucent surface. The processing circuitry may be configured to extract user input data from captured images of an object seen through the translucent surface by extracting gesture point locations from the captured images, storing coordinate data associated with the extracted gesture point locations, and comparing the stored coordinate data with template data that corresponds to a plurality of known characters.
