Abstract: The present invention provides a travel obstruction detection device and a vehicle navigation system capable of appropriately detecting a location of a travel obstruction on a road and thereby providing travel obstruction information before travel of a vehicle. The travel obstruction detection device includes: a data acquisition section that receives data at least including information on location of the vehicle from an on-board controller; an obstruction information generation section that generates the travel obstruction information around a travel location on the basis of a swept path of the vehicle calculated from history of the received location information; and an obstruction information transmission section that transmits the generated travel obstruction information to the on-board controller.
