  • Publication number: 20210214856
Abstract: The disclosure relates to large area single crystal diamond (SCD) surfaces and substrates, and their methods of formation. Typical large area substrates can be at least about 25 mm, 50 mm, or 100 mm in diameter or square edge length, and suitable thicknesses can be about 100 ?m to 1000 ?m. The large area substrates have a high degree of crystallographic alignment. The large area substrates can be used in a variety of electronics and/or optics applications. Methods of forming the large area substrates generally include lateral and vertical growth of SCD on spaced apart and crystallographically aligned SCD seed substrates, with the individual SCD growth layers eventually merging to form a composite SCD layer of high quality and high crystallographic alignment. A diamond substrate holder can be used to crystallographically align the SCD seed substrates and reduce the effect of thermal stress on the formed SCD layers.

  • Publication number: 20190251304
Abstract: An electronic system for detecting and communicating the presence of tubing insulating disks by radio frequency is provided herein. A flange where an insulating disk is to be placed is previously identified by means of a radio frequency identification card. The insulating disk carries an encapsulated group of electronic components attached thereto, for reading the card and emitting information by radio frequency. The card can only be read when the insulating disk is installed and the card is connected to the encapsulated group. Once the card has been read, a radio frequency signal is emitted, which will be captured by another, remote, receiving group. This is interpreted as the presence of the insulating disk. Extracting the card implies the interruption of the emission, which is interpreted as the absence of the insulating disk on the flange.

  • Publication number: 20060194915
Abstract: This invention describes the obtainment of impact-resistant materials from a block copolymer that comprises as monomers an alkadiene (conjugated diene) and a vinyl aromatic compound, which is used as impact modifier to obtain such materials and in which, at least, one of the blocks of the vinyl aromatic compound is polydisperse. The invention allows obtaining morphologies such as rods, points or capsules by incorporating such copolymer into a polymeric matrix derived from vinyl aromatic monomers independently from other agents such as chain transfer agents, and achieving increases, in the impact values up to 50% through the use of the copolymer of this invention.

  • Patent number: 4064917
Abstract: Apparatus for blanking an integrated circuit (I.C.) chip and the chip's thin flexible ductile leads from a segment of film and forming the leads of the chip in a single operation of a hollow punch having cutting and forming edges and a hollow die having cutting edges with a forming block having forming edges positioned within the die. The punch and die are mounted on a punch press. Alignment pins are provided which at the beginning of each blanking and forming operation engage reference sprocket holes of a film segment to which an I.C. chip is mounted to accurately position the chip and its leads with respect to the punch and die. A pressure pad is mounted in the punch and presses the leads against a portion of the forming block to isolate the bonds between the leads and the integrated circuit chip from forces applied to the leads during cutting and forming.
