  • Patent number: 10136999
Abstract: The invention concerns a surgical implant (1) for correcting the mutual positioning or orientation of the bones of a patient designed to be inserted between at least two bone bodies (2, 3) of said patient, and comprising: a main body (5) extending along a longitudinal axis (X-X?), a plurality of fins (9), each fin (9) being provided with a junction edge (10) connecting said fin (9) to said main body (5), such that said fins (9) protrude from said main body (5) from the respective junction edge (10) thereof, the surgical implant (1) being characterized in that each fin (9) has a sufficient flexibility so that it can be deformed along a direction centripetal and/or parallel to the longitudinal axis (X-X?) under the action of at least one of the bone bodies (2, 3) when said surgical implant (1) is inserted between said bone bodies (2, 3). Surgical implants.

  • Patent number: 8398691
Abstract: A surgical device for treating the pathology of flat feet, the device comprising an outer casing; and an expansion member suitable for moving inside said outer casing in a compression direction, for causing said outer casing to expand radially; the surgical device being provided with non-return check means shaped to allow the expansion member to move in the compression direction towards an operating position inside the outer casing and to oppose movement of the expansion member in the reverse direction once said operating position is reached, so as to prevent the expansion member from being expelled.

  • Patent number: 6409767
Abstract: The invention provides an ankle prosthesis for use in the field of orthopedic prostheses comprising a talus implant for implanting in or on the talus and a top element including a tibia implant for implanting in or on the base of the tibia. The top element and the talus implant being mounted to move relative to each other by friction on a contact interface so as to allow the ankle to move. The contact interface presents a friction surface that can be considered as being a fraction of a substantially frustoconical surface. When implanted, the substantially frustoconical surface is oriented so that its larger radius portion is directed substantially towards the outside of the ankle.

  • Patent number: 6261292
Abstract: The invention relates to a threaded pin for holding together pieces of a fractured bone. The pin comprises a body having a distal end and a proximal end. The distal end has a first thread presenting crests and the proximal end has a second thread presenting crests. The first thread and the second thread being spaced apart by a smooth portion. The first and second threads are such that the pitch X of the first thread and the pitch Y of the second thread both decrease from the distal end (X1, X2, Y1, Y2) towards the proximal end (Xn, Xn−1; Yn, Yn−1). The diameter d of the crests of the first thread and the diameter D of the crests of the second thread both increase from the distal end (d1, d2; D1, D2) towards the proximal end (dn, dn−1; Dn, Dn−1), and the values are such that: X1>X2>Xn−1>Xn>Y1>Y2>Yn−1>Yn and Dn>Dn−1>D2>D1>dn>dn−1>d2>d1. The invention is applicable to repairing bones.

  • Patent number: 6136032
Abstract: A surgical device implantable in the subtalar tunnel for treating the flat foot condition, composed of: a central cylindrical body having an outer cylindrical surface provided with a first screw thread; an expansion cone having a longitudinally extending internal bore provided with a second screw thread mateable with the first screw thread, the cone further having an external surface of conical form; and an external cylinder having an internal conical surface engageable with the cone and constructed to be radially expandable in response to movement of the cone in a longitudinal direction relative to the cylinder, the cone being longitudinally moveable by rotation relative to the cylindrical body while the first and second threads are in threaded engagement with one another.
