In various embodiments, the system is configured to automatically store an imaged document in a particular file storage location based, at least in part, on at least one machine-readable indicia (e.g., a bar code, such as a linear or matrix bar code) that is included within the document. In particular embodiments, the system is configured to store the documents under particular file names or as particular file types associated with the indicia. The system may also be adapted to automatically assemble multiple imaged documents into a single document based, for example, on respective page numbers that are associated with the machine-readable indicia, or that are included within the images themselves.
