  • Patent number: 7239977
Abstract: A method and system for the systematic evaluation and rating of technical equipment using a data processing device (20), which works together with at least one data memory (21) and has an input (22) and display device (23), in which, step-by-step for the particular technical equipment, at least one first data set having economically relevant input parameters and at least one second data set having technically relevant input parameters are detected and/or established. For each data set, through knowledge-based predetermined numerical and/or logical linkages and knowledge-based predetermined weighting factors specific to the equipment, the established input parameters are brought together into an economic evaluation parameter FIx and a technical evaluation parameter RIx, respectively, and from the established evaluation parameters, through knowledge-based predetermined numerical linkages and weighting factors, a single overall resulting evaluation parameter EIx is determined.

  • Patent number: 5508674
Abstract: An improved core-form transformer is disclosed. The core-form transformer includes a c-wrapped ribbon conductor with opposing wide sides and opposing thin sides. The c-wrapped ribbon conductor is wound around a core to form a plurality of coil sections. Adhesive is applied directly to one of the wide sides of the ribbon conductor to form a strong mechanical coupling within the coil sections. A novel transposing fold of the ribbon conductor is employed to create coil transpositions. The core-form transformer of the invention reduces circulating current losses while utilizing only a small number of transposing folds, generally adjacent to a first coil section, a last coil section, and an intermediate coil section.

  • Patent number: 5188277
Abstract: A method of joining transformer winding conductor cables is disclosed. Initially, the ends of the conductor cables to be joined are cut in a staggered configuration. The staggered ends are then chamfered. The ends are then welded together to form a staggered joint which is of substantially the same thickness as the individual conductor cables.

  • Patent number: 4859978
Abstract: A high voltage electrical winding for shell form transformers is disclosed that reduces eddy current and circulating current losses within the winding. The winding is fabricated from an elongated conductor bundle that is spirally wound into a plurality of turns. The conductor bundle is formed from a multiplicity of enamel coated elongated conductor strands arranged in side by side relation. Each of the conductor strands has a rectangular cross section with a thickness of less than approximately 40 mils between contacting surfaces. The strand's cross sectional height is preferably less than 120 mils. The conductor strands are mounted side by side such that their respective contact surfaces abut. The conductor bundle is preferably wrapped in an adhesive tape to give the bundle some structural support and to provide insulation between winding turns. The disclosed winding also has very good mechanical strength and impulse distribution.

  • Patent number: 4434448
Abstract: A transformer motor pump unit for circulating a fluid in a transformer characterized by a rotating pump shaft mounted in non-electrically conductive bearings, means for detecting shaft displacement due to bearing wear, and a static arrester grounding the pump shaft and all rotating parts for preventing static electricity buildup on the shaft and subsequent discharge from the shaft to the bearing area. Power circuit means for operating the pump includes the static arrester as a control circuit for tripping the pump out of operation should mechanical failure occur.
