Patent number: 12259790Abstract: A high frequency snapshot technique improves data replication in a disaster recovery (DR) environment. A base snapshot is generated from failover data at a primary site and replicated to a placeholder file at a secondary site. Upon commencement of the base snapshot generation and replication, incremental light weight snapshots (LWSs) of the failover data are captured and replicated to the secondary site. A staging file at the secondary site accumulates the replicated LWSs (“high-frequency snapshots”). The staging file is populated with the LWSs in parallel with the replication of the base snapshot at the placeholder file. At a subsequent predetermined time interval, the accumulated LWSs are synthesized to capture a “checkpoint” snapshot by applying and pruning the accumulated LWSs at the staging file. Once the base snapshot is fully replicated, the pruned LWSs are merged to the base snapshot to synchronize the replicated failover data.Type: GrantFiled: July 29, 2021Date of Patent: March 25, 2025Assignee: Nutanix, Inc.Inventors: Angshuman Bezbaruah, Kiran Tatiparthi, Mahesh Venkataramaiah, Pranay Kumar Ega, Praveen Kumar Padia, Ramya Bolla, Sudhir Ravi

Patent number: 11736367Abstract: A method of generating a network topology map in a datacenter comprising a network manager server and a set of host machines is provided. Each host machine hosts a set of data compute nodes (DCNs). The method receives information regarding the configuration of each of a set of logical networks from the network manager server. Each logical network is connected to several DCNs. The method identifies logical connections configured between the DCNs using the configuration of the overlay networks. The method generates a network topology map based on the identified logical configuration. The network topology identifies the DCNs that are connected to each overlay network. The method displays the network topology map on a graphical user interface.Type: GrantFiled: December 27, 2021Date of Patent: August 22, 2023Assignee: NICIRA, INC.Inventors: Aditya G. Patent number: 11240111Abstract: Some embodiments provide a method for presenting packets captured in a network. The method identifies a first set of packets from a first packet group of multiple captured packet groups. The method identifies a second set of packets, that corresponds to the first set of packets, from a second packet group of the multiple captured packet groups. The method displays representations of the multiple captured packet groups. At least one of the first set of packets and the second set of packets are presented with a different appearance from other packets of their respective packet group.Type: GrantFiled: December 20, 2016Date of Patent: February 1, 2022Assignee: NICIRA, INC.Inventors: Neelima Balakrishnan, Ninad Ghodke, Rishi Mehta, Banit Agrawal, Ramya Bolla, Siming Li

Publication number: 20200396306Abstract: Examples of a distributed message service include a virtualized file system including a virtual disk configured to store messages for a message topic, and a broker logically allocated to the message topic. The broker is configured to cause a message directed to the message topic provided from a publisher to be stored at the virtual disk, and to route the message to a subscriber of the message topic that is registered with the broker. The distributed message service further includes an operating system configured to manage the virtualized file system and includes a message service configured to manage logical allocation of the broker and manage allocation of the virtual disk to the message topic.Type: ApplicationFiled: July 31, 2019Publication date: December 17, 2020Applicant: Nutanix, Inc.Inventors: AMOD VILAS JALTADE, ADITYA VILAS JALTADE, CHINMAY DINESH KAMAT, GOWTHAM ALLURI, HARSHIT AGARWAL, KARAN GUPTA, MAYUR VIJAY SADAVARTE, MONIL DEVANG SHAH, PARTHA RAMACHANDRAN, RAMYA BOLLA
