  • Publication number: 20090280673
Abstract: A device for connecting and supporting fixtures, such as electrical fixtures, includes a male plug, a mating female socket and a releasable spindle assembly for both holding the plug in the socket and mechanically mounting the fixture on a supporting surface or an electrical box. The plug is provided with concentric, ring shaped male connectors that are matingly received within similarly shaped female recesses in the socket to create electrical connections and also allow the fixture to be rotated to any of a plurality or mounting orientations. The releasable spindle assembly is controlled by the actuation of a push rod operated by a tool or user's finger.

  • Publication number: 20090035970
Abstract: A flexible socket has a plug revolvable therein for conducting electric power. The plug mechanically supports in a desired orientation an appliance receiving power from the plug. A central releasable latching mechanism allows partial or total withdrawal of the plug. Partial withdrawal is used to change the support angle of the appliance. Total withdrawal is used to transfer the appliance to another location.

  • Patent number: 6962498
Abstract: The invention relates to the support of light electric appliances such as light fittings and small fans. The device according to the invention provides a plug and socket combination powering and supporting an appliance in a manner allowing the user to change its orientation. The combination is particularly useful where there is a frequent need to move light appliances from one location to another. The combination comprises a fixable socket and a plug revolvable therein for conducting electric power and for mechanically supporting in a desired orientation an appliance receiving the power.
