Abstract: A device and method for the performing of fireground training exercises is presented. The device includes a sled having a plurality of runners. Further included is a frame in communication with the sled. The frame is coupled to the sled and defines a structure. A number of simulation exercises are facilitated via the device, such as a ceiling breach simulation device. The ceiling breach simulation device is configured to include a pole having a first end and a second end. The first end pivots about a mount in communication with the sled so as to maintain the point of rotation below the hands of the trainee. In one embodiment the ceiling breach simulation device permits both rotational motion as well as vertical translation of the pole.
