  • Publication number: 20160029197
Abstract: Methods, systems, and apparatuses are described for asserting support for telematics capabilities in a vehicle emergency call system. In some aspects, a method for wireless communication in the vehicle emergency call system may include transmitting a set of telematics capabilities from a first endpoint in the vehicle emergency call system to a second endpoint in the vehicle emergency call system over a communication session signaling protocol.

  • Publication number: 20140338526
Abstract: Disclosed is a device that includes a natural-gas compression system having a natural-gas powered combustion engine, a compression cylinder configured to receive natural gas and output compressed natural gas, a piston disposed in the compression cylinder and configured to translate through the compression cylinder in response to mechanical power received from the natural-gas powered combustion engine, and a variable-volume head mounted to the compression cylinder and configured to vary a compressed volume of the compression cylinder. In some instances, the variable-volume head includes a head body, an adjustment screw rotatably coupled to the head body, a plug moveable in threaded engagement with the adjustment screw, and an anti-rotation device coupled to the plug, the head body, or both. The anti-rotation device may be configured to impede the plug from rotating relative to the head body as the adjustment screw rotates.

  • Publication number: 20140094210
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices are described for communicating telematics data and metadata. A first device transmits a first signaling message to a second device over a communication session signaling protocol. The first signaling message includes at least a first set of session information related to a communication session between the first device and the second device and a first set of telematics data for the first device. The first device receives a second signaling message from the second device over the communication session signaling protocol. The second signaling message includes metadata based on a content of the first set of telematics data transmitted in the first signaling message.

  • Patent number: 8671144
Abstract: A messaging system on a server computes a spamicity value (spam score) for incoming messages. The messaging system may filter the incoming messages using that spamicity value, or using any other basis. Conversely, the messaging system may not filter the messages at all. In either case, the spamicity value is communicated to a remote device prior to communicating the messages to the remote device. In this way, a messaging client at the remote device may determine whether to retrieve the messages using the calculated spamicity values from the server.

  • Publication number: 20130250810
Abstract: Systems and methods provide a discovery protocol allowing nodes that are interested in knowing a network topology to discover other nodes in the network topology. The discovery protocol includes two message types, topology discovery messages and topology query messages. A node issues topology discovery messages upon powering up, at periodic intervals, or upon detecting a change in network topology. The topology discovery messages are broadcast to all nodes on a network and identify the issuing node to the network. A topology query message is sent to a particular node and requests a response from the receiving node regarding the neighboring nodes of the receiving node. The querying node can use the response data to discover other nodes and to send the discovered nodes query messages such that the node can determine a network topology to a desired level of depth within the network.

  • Publication number: 20100169910
Abstract: Disclosed are apparatus and methods operable to distribute targeted content. Additionally, disclosed are corresponding apparatus and methods operable to selectively choose and cache selected ones from among the distributed targeted content, and to further choose ones from among the cached content to present on a device. In some aspects, selective caching of content may be based upon a match between predetermined content attribute information and predetermined profile information. Further, in some aspects, an indicator is operable to trigger the selective inclusion of one or more of the cached content in a presentation of other content, which may be based on a match between a desired content attribute associated with the indicator and the respective predetermined content attribute information of the cached content.

  • Patent number: 7565447
Abstract: A method for transferring data that includes the formulation of a set of criteria that includes a first subset of the criteria and a second subset of the criteria, the first subset of the criteria corresponding to one or more triggering events, the second subset of the criteria corresponding to a group of conditions of a communication link required for a data transfer between a first entity and a second entity, the group consisting of a timing to request data and a timing for the data transfer, a determination that the criteria in the first subset has been met which triggers an evaluation of the criteria in the second subset, a determination that the set of criteria has been met; and the initiation of the data transfer between the first entity and the second entity in response to meeting the set of criteria.
