Abstract: Embodiments disclosed herein provide systems and methods for modifying diameter messages to establish a communication session over a home packet data network gateway (PGW). In a particular embodiment, a method provides receiving, from a wireless communication device, a request to establish a communication session over a communication network, wherein the communication network exchanges messages using a Diameter authentication, authorization, and accounting protocol. in response to receiving the request, the method provides determining a home PGW for the wireless communication device and adding an indication of the home PGW to a Diameter message for establishing the communication session. Based on the indication of the home PGW, the method provides routing the Diameter message to establish the communication session between the wireless communication device and the home PGW.

Abstract: A method, system, and device are provided for bootstrapping a Session Initiation Protocol Proxy for a mobile device when the Home Agent is bootstrapped for the device. When an authentication server obtains a Home Agent address for the mobile device, it also obtains a Session Initiation Protocol Proxy address, associated with the Home Agent, for the mobile device. The Session Initiation Protocol Proxy address is sent to the mobile device along with the Home Agent address.

Abstract: What is disclosed is a method of operating a communication system which includes a plurality of packet processing systems that each comprises one of a plurality of packet payload inspection systems. The method includes receiving a registration request from a wireless communication device, and in response, selecting one of the packet processing systems for the wireless communication device, obtaining a user profile for the wireless communication device, and obtaining a location for the wireless communication device. The method also includes transferring data indicating the wireless communication device, the user profile for the wireless communication device, and the location for the wireless communication device for delivery to the one of the packet payload inspection systems included in the selected one of the packet processing systems.
