    Abstract: A redundant network call management system comprising interconnected duplicate call processing devices connected to a plurality of port network controllers, the plurality of port network controllers interconnected via a token bus. One of the duplicate call processing devices is active and the other call processing device is inactive and one of the plurality of port network controllers is a master port network controller. The active call processing device receives call requests and processes the call requests to generate call routing instructions that are sent to the master port network controller. When the interconnection between the duplicate call processing devices fails, both of the duplicate call processing devices transition to an active state and instruct one of the plurality of port network controllers to operate as master.
