    Abstract: Embodiments of a peripheral backlighting system for keyboards include one or more light-emitting panels exterior to the keyswitches of the keyboard.     Abstract: A body tissue treatment system comprising a heating device and a topical cream comprises controlled, non-burning heat exhibiting greater temperature fluctuation than a conventional heating device. At high temperature settings, the heating elements fluctuate widely between a relatively high maximum and low minimum to produce periods of intense heat input into the skin followed by sufficient cooling to prevent burning of the skin. Such application of intense heat to the skin, for short periods in which temperatures reach their peaks, relaxes musculature surrounding the injured area and significantly improves blood flow, skin permeability, and sweat gland openness in the area, which allows the topical cream to more readily penetrate skin and/or injured body tissues.

    Abstract: The present invention comprises a heating wrap for placement against an injured/painful area of a person's body and an analgesic cream being placed between the heating wrap and the injured/painful area. The invented cream is formulated specifically for use with a heating wrap to be heat-compatible. The added heat from the heating wrap enhances the permeability of the skin and the tendency of the cream to permeate into the skin. The cream preferably includes an ingredient pharmaceutically categorized as an analgesic agent and an ingredient pharmaceutically categorized as an anti-inflammatory agent. Preferably, the cream does not include ingredients at levels that irritate human skin at the elevated temperatures of the heating wrap, that is, at about 110-140 degrees F. wrap temperatures. The heat wrap may be a pad that includes a flexible sleeve for receiving and surrounding the pad, plus a set of straps for holding the pad or pad/sleeve combination on the body area that is to be treated.

    Abstract: Embodiments of a measuring and dispensing device are described, for attachment to an open container for neat and consistent dispensing of particulate. The device has a generally cup-shaped dome with a swinging and lockable partition inside the dome for changing the volume inside the dome that receives particulate. A lid snaps onto the bottom of the dome to separate the dome interior space from the open container. To prepare the dispenser for receiving and measuring particulate, the dome is rotated relative to the lid to align an inlet port in the lid with the selected dome volume, and the container-dispenser unit is turned up-side-down. The dome then is rotated to close off the inlet port against a blocking surface, and the particulate is poured out through an uncapped outlet port. The device features simple, smooth construction, which results in easy cleaning and sanitary use.
