Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention address deficiencies of the art in respect to keep alive processing for enterprise extenders and provide a method, system and computer program product for adaptable keep alive processing for enterprise extenders. In one embodiment of the invention, an EE keep alive data processing system can be provided. The system can include an EE, a keep alive processor coupled to the EE, and a variable current timer value. The value can be configured for expansion in size responsive to the keep alive processor detecting a period of inactivity in an EE partner. The value further can be configured for contraction in size responsive to the keep alive processor detecting a period of activity in the EE partner.
