The lift chair providing those with physical limitations the ability to move from a seated position to a standing position. The lift chair having a particular use in a bathroom wherein the chair can be used in a shower, bath, or for use as a toilet overlay. A piston device coupled to a battery provides portability, the piston device is operated by a remote controller.

Abstract: Disclosed is a rotatable shower chair that couples to the side wall of a bathtub. The platform for the rotatable shower chair cannot be moved until the platform is uncoupled from the bathtub sidewall. The seat is rotatable, allowing an individual to control rotation by movement of individual's body. A grab rail is placed along one side of the seat platform to facilitate repositioning by the bather.

The rotating seat includes an assembly that can be raised or lowered using a DC powered linear actuator. The linear actuator will also move a backrest from an upright position to a reclined position. A controller includes logic to prevent operation should the batteries have insufficient power to raise the seat assembly. Slip resistant padding is comprised of medical-grade, closed cell, molded polyurethane padding that does not absorb water and reduces the risk of skin tears.

In a preferred embodiment, the cushion on the rotating seat assembly is constructed of a slip resistant padding comprised of medical grade, closed cell molded polyurethane padding that does not absorb water.

Abstract: A concentric air diffuser for use with climate control systems to direct air to desired locations within the interior of a building and return air to the system includes a perforated plate between a supply inlet and supply vents. The perforated plate assists in balancing air flow out of the vents. Additionally, a baffle plate is located along the portion of the perforated plate below the supply inlet to assist in distributing air throughout the diffuser housing prior to allowing the air to flow through the clear area portion of the perforated plate and out through the vents.

Within the air diffuser plenum is a cavity which receives the incoming air. The bottom of the housing has a diffuser insert mounted thereon which directs air from the cavity to outlets connected to the sides of the diffuser. The diffuser has a rectangular inlet to cooperate with a transition duct which preferably installed from the roof into a building. The diffuser also has a transition portion directing air from the inlet to a substantially square cross section area prior to directing air out of the vents. A method for making the diffuser is also disclosed.

Within the air diffuser plenum is a cavity which receives the incoming air. The bottom of the housing has a deflector which is formed from the interior sides of a bottom portion of the diffuser. The deflector directs air from the cavity to outlets connected to the sides of the diffuser. Since the deflector is formed from the opposing sides of the bottom portion of the diffuser, there is no need for a separate bottom plate to hold a diffuser insert in place. Additionally, the deflector may extend a distance beyond the side wall intersection to direct air in direction.
