Abstract: A method and system for delivering targeted content to a social network having a plurality of users is provided. The method includes and the system provides for generating a multi-layer user profile for each of the users based on the individual user's activity and/or provided information. Each layer of the multi-layer user profile defines an interest and/or characteristic of the user. Grouping the users into one or more user profile groups based on the profiles such that each member of the user profile group has at least one layer in common. Retrieving and presenting content that is associate with the at least one common layer of a particular user group to all members of that particular user group.
