  • Publication number: 20190276298
Abstract: A liquid dispense system has a container having an open end and a sidewall defining a container interior, and a fitment enclosing the open end of the container. The sidewall has at least one vent. The fitment has a hollow body with a partition extending across an interior of the hollow body, the partition having at least one aperture. The fitment further has a valve connected to the partition and being movable between a normally-closed position and an open position. The at least one vent is covered by a protective membrane configured to filter air that enters the container interior as liquid is dispensed from the container interior when the valve is in the open position.

  • Patent number: 7377399
Abstract: A sidewall portion of a plastic container adapted for vacuum pressure absorption. The sidewall portion including generally rectangular shaped vacuum panels equidistantly spaced about the container. The vacuum panels having, at least in part, a convex shaped surface and a series of equidistantly spaced indents disposed therein. The vacuum panels being moveable to accommodate vacuum forces generated within the container thereby decreasing the volume of the container.

  • Patent number: 6920992
Abstract: A sidewall portion of a plastic container adapted for vacuum pressure absorption. The sidewall portion including generally rectangular shaped vacuum panels equidistantly spaced about the container The vacuum panels being defined in at least part by an upper portion, a central portion and a lower portion formed in a compound curve shape. The vacuum panels being moveable to accommodate vacuum forces generated within the container thereby decreasing the volume of the container.

  • Patent number: 5236097
Abstract: A plastic container having an improved base structure. The base structure generally includes an inwardly domed inner wall having panels formed therein. The panels are inclined relative to the remainder of the inner wall and, at the juncture, form inwardly directed corners that provide increased stiffness and structural integrity to the base structure allowing use of the container with low carbonation beverages. The panels are also integrally formed with a lower end of an outer wall which defines a line of contact extending continuous around the base structure. This simplified base structure makes the container more cost efficient to produce and also allows it to be used with non-carbonated beverages.

  • Patent number: 5141120
Abstract: A hot-fill PET container which includes opposed pinch grip indentations in the sidewall enabling the container to be grasped between the thumb and fingers of one hand to facilitate handling of the container and pouring of liquid from the container. Each indentation comprises an irregularly shaped surface having an outside edge and an integral hinge enabling the indentations to collapse inwardly toward each other to accommodate internal forces tending to collapse the container sidewall inwardly due to filling of the container with liquid at an elevated temperature and subsequent cooling of the liquid.

  • Patent number: 5141121
Abstract: A hot-fill PET container which includes opposed hand grip sections in the sidewall enabling the container to be grasped between the thumb and fingers of one hand to facilitate handling of the container and pouring of liquid from the container. Each hand grip section includes an outwardly bulged surface having an outside edge and an integral hinge enabling opposite bulged surfaces to invert and collapse inwardly toward each other to accommodate internal forces tending to collapse the container sidewall inwardly due to filling of the container with liquid at an elevated temperature and subsequent cooling of the liquid.
