Abstract: There is disclosed an adhesive barrier for crawling insects, comprising a flexible sheet of material having an adhesive on at least one side, with a peel-off liner protecting the adhesive surface. The flexible sheet of material is shaped to form a self-standing adhesive barrier when its first and second side edges are overlapped and bonded together, the self-standing barrier having angled side walls and first and second openings of a different size, at least one of the first and second openings adapted to be placed on a flat surface without any gaps. In an embodiment, the flexible sheet forms a self-standing adhesive barrier in the shape of a cone, with a large opening at one end, and a smaller opening at the other end. At least one opening is adapted to be placed on a flat surface without any gaps.

Abstract: The unit comprises an engageable-releasable combination of a receptacle-basis on which a closing-carrying lid is superimposed. Once engaged, a circular opening between a top extending from an upper end of outer wall of receptacle-basis support and a bottom, horizontal flat surface of closing-carrying lid is formed. An entrapment cavity in an interior of receptacle-basis support for captured crawling insects is established.

Abstract: There is disclosed an apparatus for intercepting and capturing crawling insects, comprising: a receptacle base, the receptacle base having an outer wall and an inner landing forming an entrapment cavity therebetween; and a removable lid adapted to engage the inner landing and substantially cover the receptacle base while forming a continuous opening between the lid and the outer wall of the receptacle base. A replaceable pad and a removable tray may be positioned between the receptacle base and removable lid to attract, immobilize, and exterminate insects. The apparatus is suitable for at least partially supporting the weight of an article placed thereon. In an embodiment, the article is a piece of furniture, and a plurality of units are positioned to each receive one leg of the piece of furniture thereon, such as a bed, sofa, upholstered items, and chairs. The apparatus is also suitable for use with any other articles which require protection from crawling insects.
