Patent number: 6053196Abstract: A flow regulator for a pump, particularly a vane pump, which regulates the fluid flow delivered to a consumer by the pump, and has a control piston acted on by the pressure built up by the pump, on the one hand, and, on the other, is acted upon by an initial force counteracting this pressure, and has a control edge, which interacts with the discharge bore, and a continuation, which penetrates an aperture, to form a delivery throttle, which is dependent on the piston path. The outside surface (31) of the continuation (25) of the control piston (5) has at least two regions (35, 37) with different outside diameters, separated from one another by a sharp-edged step (39).Type: GrantFiled: August 13, 1996Date of Patent: April 25, 2000Assignee: LuK Fahrzeug-Hydraulik GmbH & Co. KGInventor: Randolf Kortge

Patent number: 5702242Abstract: A vane pump including a rotor, which is arranged within a cam ring located in the pump housing, and which carries a plurality of radially displaceable vanes which are also displaceable along the inner double-symmetrical contour of the cam ring, with the inner contour defining two diametrically opposite pump chambers and with each chamber being divided in three sections forming, respectively, a suction region, a pressure region, and a separation region between the suction and pressure regions.Type: GrantFiled: April 26, 1995Date of Patent: December 30, 1997Assignee: Luk Fahrzeug-Hydraulik GmbH & Co.Inventors: Thomas Nied-Menninger, Randolf Kortge, Bernd Denfeld

Patent number: 5685332Abstract: A valve assembly for controlling fluid flow to an actuator, including first and second throttles for controlling partial flows therethrough, which together form a full flow to the actuator and which function indepedently from each other and are formed each by a variable metering orifice, and a flow control valve for controlling fluid flow through the first throttle and including a valve spool and a spring for biasing the valve spool to a position of a maximum predetermined fluid flow through the first throttle.Type: GrantFiled: April 7, 1995Date of Patent: November 11, 1997Assignee: Luk Fahrzeug-Hydraulik GmbH & Co. KG.Inventors: Gerhard Overdiek, Yuejin Gong, Randolf Kortge, Hans-Jurgen Lauth, Van Doan Nguyen

Patent number: 5597008Abstract: A pressure-limiting valve including a housing, a valve seat located in the housing bore, a sealing element displaceable in the bore between a closed position in which it engages the valve seat, and an open position in which it is spaced from said valve seat, and a spring for biasing the sealing element to the closed position thereof, with the valve seat being pressed into the housing bore, with a valve seat position being adjustable during the pressing-in process, and with continuous control of pressure-in forces.Type: GrantFiled: April 12, 1995Date of Patent: January 28, 1997Assignee: Luk Fahrzeug-Hydraulik GmbH & Co., KG.Inventors: Gerhard Overdiek, Hans-Jurgen Lauth, Van D. Nguyen, Randolf Kortge

Patent number: 5580817Abstract: A valve assembly for a discharge device, in particular a steering pump, including a flow control valve for controlling flow from the discharge device to an actuator, and a pressure-limiting valve, wherein both valves form separate components of the valve assembly and are located in one and the same cavity of the discharge device.Type: GrantFiled: May 27, 1994Date of Patent: December 3, 1996Assignee: Luk Fahrzeug-Hydraulik GmbH & Co. KGInventor: Randolf Kortge

Patent number: 5513672Abstract: A valve assembly for controlling volume flow from a discharge device to an actuator and including a discharge throttle, and a flow control valve for controlling flow through the throttle and having a piston, and end portion of which overlaps a channel for returning excess fluid to a suction side of the discharge device and has an end region forming a seated valve preventing leakage past the end region, when the end region completely overlaps the return channel.Type: GrantFiled: May 27, 1994Date of Patent: May 7, 1996Assignee: LUK Fahrzeug-Hydraulik GmbH & Co. KGInventors: Van Doan Nguyen, Yuejin Gong, Randolf Kortge, Hans-Jurgen Lauth, Gerhard Overdiek, Willi Parsch, Thomas Nied-Menninger

Patent number: 5460198Abstract: A valve assembly used in combination with a pressurized-fluid source having a high-pressure side and a low-pressure side and a load has a pressure-actuated flow regulating valve having a housing and a valve body movable in the housing and defining therein a pump compartment connectable to the high-pressure side of the source and a load compartment connectable to the load. The body is movable between a front position permitting free flow from the pump to the load compartment and a rear position limiting such flow. The valve body is formed with a throughgoing bypass passage having one end open into the load compartment and an opposite end. A spring braced between the valve body and the housing urges the valve body forwardly along an axis toward the load compartment. A relief valve in the housing connected to the opposite bypass passage end and to the low-pressure side of the source relieves pressure in the load compartment when pressure in the load compartment exceeds a predetermined limit.Type: GrantFiled: May 27, 1994Date of Patent: October 24, 1995Assignee: Luk Fahrzeug-Hydraulik GmbH & Co. KGInventor: Randolf Kortge
