  • Patent number: 12343460
Abstract: A photocatalytic system for reducing airborne contaminants using an ultraviolet (UV) emitter and photocatalytic cells, the system comprises a housing comprising a front side having an opening therethrough, and a rear side opposite the front side, the rear side also having an opening therethrough. A first photocatalytic cell is located in the housing adjacent to the front side. Likewise, a second photocatalytic cell located in the housing adjacent to the rear side. A unitary removable structure slidably positionable within the housing between the first photocatalytic cell and the second photocatalytic cell.

  • Patent number: 12102740
Abstract: The mitigation of indoor pathogens comprises quantifying, using a bio-aerosol monitoring system, the amount of total pathogens in the air and on surfaces within an indoor environment. Moreover, the process comprises sanitizing the indoor environment with portable equipment to stabilize the indoor environment when it is determined that the indoor environment is contaminated. Also, the process comprises installing a purification device within a contaminated area of the indoor environment, and monitoring continuously, the indoor environment after sanitizing, for pathogens. Still further, the process comprises releasing a purifying agent upon detecting pathogens in the indoor environment, and providing periodic maintenance to the purification device.

  • Publication number: 20230127012
Abstract: To improve effectiveness of photocatalytic systems, a non-planar reflective surface is provided within a photocatalytic system with photocatalytic cells. The non-planar surface reflects ultraviolet (UV) rays in more-desirable directions, thereby permitting greater interaction between the UV rays and the photocatalytic cells. The increased interaction improves the performance of the photocatalytic system. For some embodiments, the non-planar reflective surface comprises a first protrusion and a second protrusion. The protrusions provide larger reflective surfaces as well as more-varied directionality of reflection, as compared to a flat surface.

  • Patent number: 6401389
Abstract: This invention relates to an automatic plant watering system and method having a container for receiving a plant. The container has a dividing wall which divides the container into a plant-receiving area and a fluid container area for receiving a fluid container. When the fluid container is mounted in the fluid container receiving area, an actuator on the container actuates and opens a flapper valve so that fluid may pass from the container into the plant-receiving area. The container is situated a predetermined distance in the container-receiving area which defines the amount of water to be provided and maintained in the plant-receiving area.
