  • Patent number: 10520278
Abstract: A shockwave impulse disruptor system for use in an underwater firearm. The system includes a barrel having a bore, a muzzle, and at least one barrel port. A housing is external to the bore and defines at least a first gas expansion chamber. The expansion chamber is in fluid communication with the barrel port and has at least one exhaust port. The barrel bore and expansion chamber are flooded when underwater. Propellant gases that push a projectile through the bore are vented through the barrel port to force water from the expansion chamber through the exhaust port and to vent propellant gases. This delays the release of gases to surrounding water and reduces the amount of gas expelled through the muzzle.

  • Patent number: 9879933
Abstract: Disclosed is an integral firearm sound suppressor, comprising a barrel, a first tube, and interior connector, a baffle tube, and at least one baffle. The barrel has an axial bore, a chamber end, and a muzzle end. The chamber end is attachable to a receiver by the barrel nut. The first tube extends forwardly of the barrel nut to define an annular first chamber at least partially surrounding the barrel and having a closed forward end. The barrel has at least one port providing fluid communication between the bore and the first chamber. The interior connector supports the muzzle end of the barrel. The baffle tube extends forwardly of the muzzle end of the barrel and has a forward end wall defining an exit opening. The at least one baffle is positioned in the baffle tube and spaced forward of the muzzle end of the barrel.

  • Publication number: 20080113084
Abstract: A process for electrostatically coating a stent on a catheter. A conductor which is permanently affixed to the catheter contacts a stent mounted on the catheter. Conductive ink applied to the catheter may be used as the conductor. An electrical charge is applied to the conductor. The stent is then coated using an electrostatic coating process.

  • Publication number: 20080020013
Abstract: This disclosure relates to endolumenal medical devices coated with a taxane therapeutic agent in one or more solid form(s) having varying dissolution rates. Particularly preferred coatings comprise amorphous paclitaxel, dihydrate paclitaxel, or combinations thereof that provide durable coatings that release paclitaxel over a desired period of time, which can be on the order of hours, days or weeks. Preferred embodiments relate to medical device coatings of paclitaxel, or paclitaxel analogs or derivatives, having one or more polymorph solid forms that provide a prolonged release of paclitaxel within a body vessel without requiring a polymer carrier or barrier layer to achieve the desired rate of paclitaxel elution.
