Abstract: Computer-executed methods, systems, and media provide a first webpage, responsive to a user request, prompting for a query. A search for products or services that match the query yields a search results schema, comprising a hit description for the results of the search. A plurality of result details layout schemas, each corresponding to a search result, is also obtained. The search results schema specifies a location of each result details layout schema. A second web page encoding a first and second representation is created. The first representation is for a first search result and is centered in the second web page. The second representation is of a second search result and is positioned in an off-center position in a manner that is rotated about a first axis of rotation. The first and second representations are respectively specified by first and second result details layout schemas.

Abstract: Systems and methods for sharing albums are provided. An album has a plurality of links to documents, such as static graphic representations of web pages, or web pages themselves. Users may graphically add links to documents to albums by dragging graphic representations of such documents to a designated place on a computer interface. When a user shares an album, a link to the album is sent to a recipient. When the recipient activates the album link, documents linked by the album are presented as a graphical presentation can then be reviewed. Each of these documents can be in a document repository addressable and each of these documents may be categorized. Advertisements can be served when albums are shared. Such advertisements are chosen from an advertisement repository based on a characterization of the album or a characterization of one or more documents linked by the album.

Abstract: Under one aspect, a method of displaying information includes: obtaining, responsive to a user query, an album from a remote computer, wherein the album comprises a plurality of links. Each link is to a static graphic representation, and each static graphic representation is stored in a document repository in a remote location. Each static graphic representation is a static graphic representation of a document retrieved from the Internet at a time before the obtaining. The method also includes getting, responsive to said user query, a subset or all of the static graphic representations using a corresponding subset or all of the links. The subset or all of the static graphic representations in the album is at least two static graphic representations in the album. The method also includes displaying the subset of static representations on a graphic output device.

Abstract: Under one aspect, a method for building an album includes: obtaining a plurality of documents from a remotely located document repository; displaying a first document in the plurality of documents in a center position of a graphic output device; displaying a second document in the plurality of documents in a first off-center position of the graphic output device; wherein the second document is displayed rotated about a first axis of rotation that lies between the center position and the first off-center position of the graphic output device; accepting user input to add a link to the document in the remotely located document repository to said album; and storing said album in a remotely located album repository.

Abstract: Systems and methods for building a document or vertical index are provided in which a document comprising code for a web page on the Internet is obtained. A static graphic representation of the web page is rendered thereby building a word map that has, for each respective word in a plurality of words, areas in the representation occupied by the word. The word map having (i) an instance of a word, (ii) x- and y- coordinates of where the word appears in the representation, and (iii) a size of the area in the representation occupied by the word, is stored. A document or vertical index including the document is built such that x- and y- coordinates of the word in the representation or the size of the area in the representation occupied by the word is used as a feature of the document in the document or vertical index.

Abstract: Systems, methods, and apparatus for processing a plurality of documents are provided. A plurality of documents is obtained. Each respective document in the plurality of documents comprises code for a unique web page available on the Internet that corresponds to the respective document. A static graphic representation of the unique web page corresponding to a document in the plurality of documents is rendered. The rendering comprises generating a word map for the static graphic representation that comprises, for each respective word in a plurality of words in the document, each area in the static graphic representation that is occupied by the respective word. The static graphic representation of the unique web page corresponding to the document in the plurality of documents and the word map for the unique web page is stored. The rendering and storing is repeated for each document in the plurality of documents.

Abstract: Systems and methods for displaying a search result are provided in which a submitted search query is received from a search requester. Responsive to the search query, search results relevant to the submitted search query are retrieved from a document index, where each respective search result in at least a portion of the search results corresponds to a document in a plurality of documents. An annotated static graphic representation of a search result in the search results is displayed. The annotated static graphic representation is constructed by using a stored word map for a static graphic representation to identify each area in the static graphic representation that is occupied by a word in the submitted search query and using this information to highlight each area in the static graphic representation that is occupied by a word in the submitted search query, thereby forming the annotated static graphic representation.

Abstract: Systems and methods for providing search results responsive to a search query are provided. A submitted search query is received from a search requester. Search results relevant to the search query are obtained from a document index. Each search result comprises (i) a source document or a reference to a source document and (ii) a static graphic representation of the source document. The static graphic representation of the source document was obtained from the source document at a time before the submitted search query was received. The static graphic representation of the source document of a first search result in the search results is displayed in a center position of a graphic output device. The static graphic representation of the source document of a second search result in the search results is displayed in an off-center position of the graphic output device.

Abstract: A computer comprising a central processing unit (CPU) and a memory coupled to the CPU is provided. The memory includes a vertical index comprising a plurality of vertical index lists. Each vertical index list comprises a head term and a plurality of vertical collection identifiers. Each vertical collection referenced by a vertical collection identifier comprises documents that include the head term. The memory further comprises instructions for receiving a vertical search query from a remote client and instructions for identifying a plurality of candidate vertical collections related to the vertical search query. For each vertical collection in the plurality of candidate vertical collections, there is a vertical search query relevance score associated with the vertical collection.

Abstract: A graphical user interface stored in a memory of a client computer is provided. The interface comprises a prompt field for a vertical search query from a user. The interface further comprises a field for displaying a plurality of names. Each such name represents a vertical collection. The plurality of names is automatically populated, at a time when the user is still entering characters in the prompt field, as a function of one or more character strings in the prompt field. A computer comprising a memory storing instructions for receiving a vertical search query, communicating the query to a remote computer, and receiving a plurality of names from the remote computer. Each name represents a vertical collection having relevance to the vertical search query. The plurality of names is displayed at a time when the user is still entering additional characters into the vertical search query.

Abstract: The present invention describes a process utilized for the remediation of soils and petroleum drilling wastes contaminated with hydrocarbons, which consists in stabilization by application and mixing in specific proportions of calcium oxides and organic conditioners. It is possible to treat materials with concentrations of at least seven percent (dry weight) of hydrocarbons petroleum hydrocarbons (TPH) and reduce the concentration to 1-1.5% TPH. Furthermore, residual toxicity is completely eliminated in the treated material, vegetative growth is stimulated, the treated material does not present significant concentrations of hydrocarbons leachates and it passes all criteria to be considered not a dangerous waste (CRETI or TCLP).

Abstract: The present invention provides a method of inferring the engine coolant temperature in cylinder head temperature sensor equipped vehicles including the steps of measuring the cylinder head temperature, calculating the engine coolant temperature from the measured cylinder head temperature as a function of at least one vehicle operational state, generating a signal for the calculated engine coolant temperature, and sending the generated signal to a display.
