  • Patent number: 6829854
Abstract: A lighted flexible display device or sign, useful for advertising purposes, and having a battery supply mount. The display device herein is a lighted display and is constructed to be flexible in the presence of inadvertent bumping or deflection thereof. The mounting resilient such that, when the deflecting force is removed, the sign springs back to its normal lateral position. The mount for the display device includes a battery supply, with such supply being electrically connected to the electrical circuit of the sign. This is accomplished by means of electrical leads passing through a deflection restoration spring, by such leads passing through a resilient tongue, or with connectors used in a spring-biased pivotal construction for connecting the battery supply to the electrical lighting circuit of the sign.

  • Publication number: 20040060218
Abstract: Novel point-of-purchase cantilevered deflectable display assemblies, which normally extend transversely into a shopping aisle. Display assemblies which accommodate substitution of one frame-carried form or configuration of advertising for another, which can be radically different, without disconnecting the entire display assembly from its mounting to a molding at a store shelf or like. The advertising frame with which the advertising medium is associated is removably connected to a hanger portion. The hanger portion accommodates the above-mentioned on-site frame and advertisement removal and exchange while the remainder of the display assembly remains in its shelf-mounted or like position. Display assemblies are disclosed which enhance the deflectable nature of the cantilevered distal part of the display assemblies, the manner in which pivoting occurs and is controlled or limited and the way in which the display assemblies are biased toward neutral in the assembled condition.

  • Publication number: 20030115096
Abstract: A novel shelf-borne programmable, display assembly which communicates with a remote controller to provide wireless, dynamically variable though unattended, point-of-purchase advertising. The display assembly is normally extended transversely into a shopping aisle and may provide independent advertising on two sides of computer controlled graphic displays. Point-of-purchase advertising is generated, sent and controlled from a remote controller, preferably through wireless bi-directional communications. Further, the display assembly employs a low-power, low cost computer and associated electronics to store and display advertisements, monitor surroundings using audio and video receivers and interrogate RF tag readers. Of particular value is a capability of performing a real-time, labor-free inventory, taken of shelf-resident products marked by remotely readable tag-identifiers. Power consumption is minimized using motion sensing and an associated power down sleep circuit.

  • Patent number: 5111606
Abstract: An at-shelf lighted merchandising display device for selective attachment to and/or proximate positioning with respect to a shelf containing merchandise. The display device is constructed for receipt of one or more advertising cards, disposed in suitable pockets, with the peripheral edge and/or peripheral margins of the panel containing lights which are energized, e.g., by a battery. The battery is enclosed in the case or is encased in a mounting clip to be secured proximate the merchandise shelf. The panel includes flexible tab or tongue for accommodating any inadvertent jarring of the panel as by shoppers and their carts. In one form of the invention the resilient flexible tab employed interconnecting the panel with the mounting clip of the device also carries the electrical circuit leads powering the lights of the panel.
