Abstract: A linear variable differential transformer (LVDT) system is disclosed. The system has an LVDT. A signal conditioner circuit is coupled to the LVDT. The signal conditioner circuit uses an inductance of the LVDT primary as a micro-power excitation carrier frequency to lower a drive power of the system. The signal conditioner circuit generates output currents that are summed and filtered to generate a position proportional voltage.

Abstract: An inductor comprising one or more windings disposed on opposed first and second surfaces of a flat-plate substrate. The windings are applied to the substrate by plating or photoresistive deposition techniques, with through-holes through the plate accommodating the windings from opposed surfaces. Windings of more than one layer are obtainable with insulation between adjacent layers. The resulting inductor is usable, for example, as a component of an EMI filter in a power converter circuit.

Abstract: A DC current sensor has a core comprising a magnetically permeable material. A permeability measurement winding is formed around at least a portion of the core. The core is placed within a magnetic field of a conductor such that measurement of a permeability of the core via the permeability measurement winding facilitates determination of current flow through the conductor.

Abstract: A DC-DC converter suitable for multiple converter circuit topologies is disclosed. The DC-DC converter utilizes magnetic feedback of the output load current to provide broad inductance control of a magnetic element, while inhibiting saturation of the switched winding or windings of the magnetic element.

Abstract: An analog coupling device for coupling a telephone to a telephone network circuit while maintaining isolation of the two circuits has an optical emitting element and an optical receiving element in the network circuit. The telephone circuit includes an optical receiving element optically coupled with the network circuit optical emitting element. The telephone circuit optical receiving element has a reversed biased pn junction. The telephone circuit further includes an optical emitting element which is optically coupled with the network optical receiving element.

Abstract: An oscillator includes two transistors or like devices having their emitters connected to a common of a power source. The two transistors or like devices are interconnected with the base of the first connected to the collector of the second and the base of the second connected to the collector of the first. An inductance is placed across the base-collector connectors and a circuit through the oscillator is completed via a lead to one of the base-collector connectors.

Abstract: A data communication device which includes a terminal housing having a terminal connector forming a part thereof, with a modem located in the housing so as to be physically and electrically connected to a data terminal or computer when the terminal connector is connected to the data terminal or computer. A telephone cable having a plug means at one end so as to connect to a modular telephone is connected via its other end to the housing so as to be electrically connected to the modem.
