Patent number: 7766730Abstract: A system and method for storing, selecting and sorting animal carcasses for fabrication. A storage area has at least one storage rail upon which carcasses may be stored. A feed rail leads to the storage area. Carcasses are selected from the storage area based on a first set of criteria and are transferred to an exit rail. The selected carcasses can be sorted based on a second set of criteria using a sorting rail connected to the exit rail. Carcasses are selected and sorted based on carcass information stored in a database based on identification codes associated with each target. A processor compares the carcass information with the desired criteria and identifies carcasses meeting the criteria using one or more readers positioned near the storage rail or exit rail.Type: GrantFiled: June 21, 2007Date of Patent: August 3, 2010Assignee: Cargill, IncorporatedInventors: Derek Vote, Randy Cooper

Publication number: 20060275093Abstract: An apparatus for providing convenient control of a power tool electrical system. A switch assembly includes a first actuator and a second actuator, which is disposed remotely from the switch and first actuator. The second actuator is connected via a coupling device, such that user manipulation of either the first or second actuator is capable of controlling electricity flowing to the motor. Including a second actuator may permit the user to retain greater control over the tool when turning the power on or off. In additional exemplary aspects, a coupling device included in the switch assembly is configured and arranged so as to prevent inadvertent damage to the power tool such as by accidental engagement of a shaft lock while the motor is operating.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 10, 2006Publication date: December 7, 2006Inventors: Randy Cooper, Mark Etter, Greg Griffin, Ginger Allen, Derrick Kilbourne

Publication number: 20060116058Abstract: An in-line profile sander is disclosed. The in-line profile sander includes a sander housing configured to be grasped by a user. A plurality of interchangeable profile sanding pads can be mounted at a head of the housing. The sander includes an in-line oscillating mechanism for moving the profile sanding pads in a linear oscillating motion.Type: ApplicationFiled: January 13, 2006Publication date: June 1, 2006Inventors: Donald Bosten, John Kriaski, Randy Cooper, John Smith

Publication number: 20060108024Abstract: The present invention is directed to a router including a motor housing for at least partially enclosing a motor, a base having a sleeve for receiving the motor housing therein. The base is constructed to at least partially support the motor housing on a workpiece. The router additionally includes an electrical switch disposed substantially in a quadrant, defined by a first axis extending through generally opposing handles, and a second axis, extending normal to the first axis, and generally bisecting the motor housing, of the motor housing. Preferably, the electrical switch is disposed in the range of 30° (thirty degrees) to 60° (sixty degrees) from the second axis and particularly at approximately 45° (forty-five degrees) to allow for comfortable grasping of the motor housing/base, easy repeatable switch manipulation, and the like.Type: ApplicationFiled: April 30, 2004Publication date: May 25, 2006Inventors: Randy Cooper, Mark Etter, Greg Griffin, Ginger Allen, Derrick Kilbourne

Publication number: 20060104737Abstract: An ergonomically designed router assembly includes a base assembly coupled with a motor casing including a grip assembly which provides an overall narrower profile to the router assembly. The grip assembly may relieves stress on the muscles and allows the operator to more securely grasp the router with one hand thus decreasing fatigue levels as compared to those routers which require both hands of the operator to be engaged for control over the router.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 18, 2003Publication date: May 18, 2006Inventors: Randy Cooper, Mark Etter, Greg Griffin, Ginger Allen, Derrick Kilbourne

Publication number: 20060102249Abstract: The present invention is directed to a router with a drive shaft lock mechanism. In an exemplary aspect of the present invention, a router with a drive shaft lock mechanism includes: (1) a motor housing for at least partially containing a motor for rotating a drive shaft, the drive shaft being suitable for receiving a router bit; (2) a shaft lock, mounted to the motor housing, for selectively engaging the drive shaft to prevent rotation; (3) a base unit for adjustably receiving the motor housing; and (4) a shaft lock actuator coupled to the base unit, the shaft lock actuator being configured to obtain a released position and a locked position, wherein the shaft lock actuator, when disposed in the locked position, causes the shaft lock to be in an engaging position for preventing the drive shaft from rotation when the drive shaft is disposed adjacent the shaft lock actuator.Type: ApplicationFiled: April 30, 2004Publication date: May 18, 2006Inventors: Randy Cooper, Mark Etter, Greg Griffin, Ginger Allen, Derrick Kilbourne

Publication number: 20060102248Abstract: A depth adjustment mechanism, disposed on a router, is enabled using a worm drive that includes a shaft member engaging with a rack member. The shaft member couples with a sleeve disposed on a base of the router. The rack member is coupled with a motor casing of the router. The depth adjustment mechanism enables a user selectable engagement of the shaft member with the rack member. A rotating member, which is coupled with the shaft member, is engaged by a user to displace the shaft member relative to the rack member. The selective engagement of the shaft member with the rack member and rotation enabled by the rotating member enables continuous metered depth adjustment for the router.Type: ApplicationFiled: April 22, 2004Publication date: May 18, 2006Inventors: Randy Cooper, Mark Etter, Greg Griffin, Ginger Allen, Derrick Kilbourne
