  • Patent number: 10672684
Abstract: In one embodiment, an apparatus for holding down a heat sink on a printed circuit board comprises a pair of hold down clips, each of the hold down clips comprising a first end for attachment to the heat sink, a resiliently compressible arm, and a retaining finger at a second end for insertion into an opening in the printed circuit board. The retaining finger is configured to exert a spring force against a lower surface of the printed circuit board when inserted into the opening to securely hold down the heat sink on an upper surface of the printed circuit board.

  • Patent number: 6313449
Abstract: A fusion joining apparatus includes an electrical power source, a first frequency converter coupled to the electrical power source, a connector for connection to an induction fusion heater, a second frequency converter and a controller. During operation, the electrical power source generates source electrical power at a source voltage and a source frequency. The first frequency converter steps up the voltage and the frequency of the source electrical power to produce high voltage electrical power. The second frequency converter reduces the voltage and frequency of the high voltage electrical power and produces low voltage electrical power. The second frequency converter has terminals for connection to a resistance fusion heater to provide the low voltage electrical power to the resistance fusion heater.

  • Patent number: 5908575
Abstract: A method and apparatus for fusion joining polyethylene pipe. A power source supplies an input power to an input of a power supply. The input power has generally constant current and is converted to an output power at a relatively high frequency. The relatively high frequency output power is delivered to an installation tool. The output power delivered to the installation tool is controlled. The output power can be controlled as a function of ambient temperature surrounding the installation tool.

  • Patent number: 5786575
Abstract: A wrap tool having first and second coil regions and flange regions for inducing oscillating magnetic fields to fuse a plastic coupling having heating elements to a substrate. The first and second coil regions are wrapped around a selected plastic coupling and substrate to induce fusion currents causing melting and fusion of plastic pipes inserted into a magnetically energizable pipe coupling. The flange regions of the wrap tool are positioned adjacent each other overlappingly or inner surface to inner surface, permitting opposite current coil portions to cancel the other's magnetic fields and reduce coil inductance.

  • Patent number: 5600862
Abstract: A pipe scraper for removing a uniform amount of material from the perimeter of a pipe. The pipe scraper has a shoulder and biased members for urging the pipe against an interior surface of the scraper body to achieve a uniform scrape with both round and oval pipes, without a need for blade adjustment. Uneven scraping due to canting of the pipe with respect to the body is also eliminated.

  • Patent number: 5304076
Abstract: An electrical contact for a lamp having at least one electrical jack employed in conjunction with lamp housing and an electrical conductor. The contact includes a body element possessing a first end portion, second end portion, and an intermediate turned or bent portion. The body element is constructed of flexible conductive material to permit bending of the first and second end portions relative to one another. A pair of flexible flanges extend from the first portion and serve to form a channel and to contact the lamp electrical jack. The flanges include at least one edge portion capable of scrapping the lamp electrical jack. The electrical conductor connects to the second end portion of the body element which is held to the lamp housing.

  • Patent number: 4866215
Abstract: A cable management system for directing cables connected to the back of an equipment enclosure of the type containing a computer peripheral device or other electronics apparatus to enter and exit the equipment enclosure at a selected one of a plurality of predetermined orientations. A bottom cover of the equipment enclosure is provided with a recessed portion including a vertical wall upon which is mounted receptacles for receiving cable terminations. Upper stanchion portions at the rear of the recessed portion together with a hinged plate or with lower stanchion portions contacting the upper stanchion portions from the bottom form rear legs for the equipment enclosure. The rear legs and the vertical wall of the recessed portion confine cable entry and exit positions to particular angular segments corresponding to the sides and rear of the equipment enclosure.
