Publication number: 20130047972Abstract: An archery bow includes a riser having an offset riser portion, a bowstring, and a stabilizer mount. The riser defines a vertical center plane that divides the handle portion into right and left sides when the bow is positioned upright and ready for use. The bowstring extends between opposing ends of the handle portion. The stabilizer mount is mounted to the offset riser portion so that the stabilizer is offset laterally and vertically from the handgrip and vertical center plane, respectively, of the archery bow to compensate for archery accessories attached to the bow.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 29, 2011Publication date: February 28, 2013Applicant: Hoyt Archery, Inc.Inventors: Randy J. Patent number: 8225778Abstract: Apparatuses and structures for dampening vibrational energy from a system are disclosed. Particularly, at least one dampening member including an elongated body comprising a resilient, pliable material may be coupled to the base via at least one coupling structure structured for coupling at least a portion of the elongated body of the at least one dampening member to the dampening apparatus. Such a structure or dampening apparatus may be incorporated or attached to an archery system. Specifically, an archery system or an archery accessory component (e.g., a quiver or sight) may include at least one dampening member including a elongated body comprising a resilient, pliable material and at least one coupling structure structured for accepting at least a portion of the elongated body of the at least one dampening member so as to couple the at least one dampening member to the archery bow or component thereof.Type: GrantFiled: September 8, 2010Date of Patent: July 24, 2012Assignee: Hoyt Archery, Inc.Inventors: Randy J. Walk, Jason L. Fogg

Patent number: 7793646Abstract: A bowstring suppression device can be coupled to a bow to reduce the sound produced by the bowstring when the bow is drawn and released. The bowstring suppression device may include a cushion portion that is positioned adjacent to the bowstring when the bow is in an undrawn configuration. When the bow is drawn and released, the bowstring contacts the bowstring suppression device thereby deadening residual movement of the bowstring and reducing the sound generated by the bowstring.Type: GrantFiled: June 28, 2007Date of Patent: September 14, 2010Assignee: Hoyt Archery, Inc.Inventors: Darin B. Cooper, Gideon S. Jolley, Randy J. Walk

Patent number: 6938616Abstract: A method and apparatus for mounting accessories onto a bow. Accessories are mounted onto a bow in a precise, repeatable manner so that an archer need only to position and calibrate or adjust a particular accessory for a particular bow once. Therefore, when the calibrated accessory is removed from the bow it can later be reattached to the archery bow in the precise previous location thereby eliminating the need for the archer to recalibrate the accessory. Likewise, the present invention requires only one mounting hole in the handle riser to minimize the negative structural ramifications of drilling multiple holes.Type: GrantFiled: October 8, 2003Date of Patent: September 6, 2005Assignee: Jas. D. Easton, Inc.Inventor: Randy J. Walk

Patent number: 5735257Abstract: An elongate stabilizer for an archery bow includes an elongate housing having a plurality of separate internal chambers suitable to receive damping material or damping devices therein. One end of the stabilizer may be mounted on a bow riser in normal manner. In a preferred embodiment of the stabilizer, separate chambers extend inwardly from opposite ends of the elongate housing and are closed by end pieces secured to the opposite ends of the housing. The chambers are separated by an intermediate portion of the housing. Damping material or devices may be contained in one or more of the chambers and when more than one chamber contains damping material or devices, such damping material or devices may be of different types.Type: GrantFiled: February 2, 1996Date of Patent: April 7, 1998Assignee: Hoyt USAInventor: Randy J. Patent number: 5720267Abstract: A limb mounting system for archery bows provides limb mounting pockets which receive and restrain the bottom, sides, and top of received limbs. The mounting system is particularly suited to bow limbs made up of a pair of spaced, side-by-side limb elements. With the top restraint provided by the pockets, the pockets, when pivotally mounted to the riser, can include a rotation limiting device to limit rotation of the pockets and prevent unintentional disassembly of the bow upon unintended release of the pockets.Type: GrantFiled: February 2, 1996Date of Patent: February 24, 1998Assignee: Hoyt USAInventor: Randy J. Patent number: 5682871Abstract: An archery bow riser includes a main riser section and a reinforcing riser section joined to the ends of the main riser section and spaced from the main riser section toward the bow string. Interconnecting members extend between the main and reinforcing riser sections intermediate their lengths so that each section reinforces the other to provide a strong and rigid riser. One interconnecting member preferably constitutes an extension of the lower portion of the sight window and the arrow shelf from the main riser section to the reinforcing riser section to form a built-in overdraw for the riser. The cable guide is mounted on the reinforcing riser section and is vertically positioned closer to the center of the riser than is possible with conventional risers.Type: GrantFiled: February 2, 1996Date of Patent: November 4, 1997Assignee: Hoyt USAInventors: Randy J. Walk, William M. Boynton

Patent number: 5551413Abstract: An archery bow handle riser includes a hand grip portion with a self or integral throat portion and a heel member mounting portion to accept a variety of different replaceable heel members. In this way a narrow throat portion can be maintained while providing a wide variety of heel members to customize the hand grip as preferred by an individual archer.Type: GrantFiled: September 13, 1994Date of Patent: September 3, 1996Assignee: Hoyt USAInventor: Randy J.
