  • Patent number: 6389690
Abstract: A conformal coating and method for applying same to a printed electrical circuit board, components and leads for providing corrosion resistance. In a preferred embodiment, the conformal coating comprises a first coating layer of parylene which is vacuum deposited and removably bonded onto an ultra-clean surface of a printed circuit board including attached components and leads. Additionally, a second coating layer of a corrosion inhibiting viscous fluid is deposited onto the first coating layer to form a continuous, stratified, conformal coating which is sealed and corrosion resistant.

  • Patent number: 5121046
Abstract: An arrangement for automatically connecting a first battery either in series with or in parallel to a second battery in order to maintain a minimum output terminal voltage including a voltage sensor which detects when the operating voltage of the batteries falls below a first threshold. When this occurs, switching devices are activated to convert the parallel connection of batteries into a series connection, thereby doubling the operating voltage. When the battery voltage rises above a second threshold which is at least twice the first threshold, the switching means are activated to reconnect the batteries in parallel.
