Publication number: 20230120891Abstract: A scent dispenser/absorber includes a container, an invertible lid reversibly attached to an open end of the container, a vented cage, and a scent cartridge housed within the cage after being procured from a repository or so-called “scent library.” In an “off” condition or state, the scent cartridge/cage combination is received in an interior chamber of the container, where the scent cartridge is out of communication with the surrounding environment and therefore incapable of performing scent dispensing or absorbing functions. The scent dispenser/absorber can be switched to an “on” condition or state by manually inverting the lid and hence the associated cage/scent cartridge combination such that the scent cartridge can be positioned externally of the container, where it can communicate with the surrounding environment to perform a desired scent dispensing or absorbing function.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 21, 2022Publication date: April 20, 2023Inventors: Corey Oliver, William Webster, Randy M. Oliver, David Gallant, Denise Oliver

Patent number: 11207439Abstract: A scent absorber/dispenser is disclosed. The scent dispenser/absorber has a housing having a base and a cover that cooperate to form an interior chamber of the housing. The dispenser can take the form of an individual dispenser/absorber housing, or a dual dispenser absorber made of two housings are arranged in piggyback (i.e., back-to-back) fashion. The interior chamber of each scent dispenser/absorber is configured to receive scent means adapted to perform either a scent-absorbing function or a scent-emitting function. To use the scent dispenser/absorber, the cover of one or more housings can be moved away from its respective base to expose diffusion ports in a sidewall of the base, thereby permitting desirable scents to flow from the corresponding scent means of the one or more housings to the surrounding environment, or undesirable odors in the surrounding environment to flow into the aforesaid scent means.Type: GrantFiled: May 1, 2019Date of Patent: December 28, 2021Assignee: NOVIA PRODUCTS, LLCInventors: William Webster, Randy M. Oliver, David Gallant

Patent number: 10912855Abstract: A scent dispenser/absorber includes a pair of cylindrical housing members arranged coaxially about a common longitudinal axis such that the inner housing member is rotatably received in an interior chamber of the outer housing member. Each housing member has a peripheral sidewall provided with a set of radially extending apertures. A scent cartridge is removably disposed within an interior chamber of the inner housing member to absorb undesirable odors, or to emit desirable scents. By manually controlling the relative rotational positions of the housing members, a user can align or misalign the two sets of apertures, thereby enabling or disabling the transfer of scents or odors between the scent cartridge and the surrounding environment.Type: GrantFiled: November 1, 2018Date of Patent: February 9, 2021Assignee: NOVIA PRODUCTS, LLCInventors: William Webster, Randy M. Oliver, David Gallant

Publication number: 20170312380Abstract: A scent dispenser is provided which comprises a cylinder having a cylinder chamber for receiving a hollow piston which includes a piston body that is closely fitted to the cylinder chamber and is slideable therein, upward to a fully extended position and downward to a fully compressed position. The piston body also includes a cylindrical piston chamber having an opening at a bottom end of the piston body, which body is sized and shaped to receive a scent cell therein. The piston further includes a cover attached to or integral with an upper end of the piston body. The scent cell may be in the form of a substrate of nonwoven fibrous material capable of allowing air to flow readily through the scent cell and through a volatile scented substance contained therein. The scent cell may further comprise a coating material capable of reversibly absorbing or adsorbing the volatile scented substance, while allowing air to flow readily through the scent cell.Type: ApplicationFiled: April 27, 2017Publication date: November 2, 2017Applicant: NOVIA PRODUCTS LLCInventors: William Webster, Randy M. Patent number: 6581424Abstract: A portable lock box includes a box-shaped base member having an open front and top and a box-shaped front closure member having an open back and top. The base and front closure members include complementary horizontal support members and the front closure member is dimensioned to be slidably received through the open front of the base member to form a base assembly that may be filled with ballast. Respective support members define apertures through which elongate fasteners may be extended when aligned so as to couple the front closure member to the base member. A top panel is configured for slidable engagement with the base member so as to cover the open top. The top panel and base member include corresponding bores through which a rod may be extended and locked. Selected items may be stowed for safekeeping in a compartment mounted to an underside of the top panel.Type: GrantFiled: May 1, 2001Date of Patent: June 24, 2003Inventor: Randy M. Oliver
