  • Publication number: 20090030915
Abstract: Method and system for determining a driving factor for a data value of interest in a multidimensional database, by collecting a context for the data value of interest in the multidimensional database. The data value of interest has dimensional levels with dimensional members outside the drill path of the data value of interest. The dimensional levels are enumerated in a list. A query using the dimensional members of the dimensional level is executed. A variance is calculated for the set of query results. A driving factor for the data value of interest is determined based on the variance. The driving factor is added to the context of the data value of interest.

  • Patent number: 7318388
Abstract: A system for improving the performance of a powered boat that includes both methods and apparatuses that provide a powered boat ways to stabilize, control, and optimize the powered boat's performance when the powered boat is in powered motion. The system provides capabilities of enhancing the powered boat's performance by responding to both aerodynamic and hydrodynamic effects upon the powered boat when the powered boat is in motion. Some embodiments of the system are capable of altering its way of responding to aerodynamic effects while the powered boat is in powered motion, other embodiments are capable of altering the powered boat's response to hydrodynamic effects while the powered boat is in powered motion, and still other embodiments are capable of altering the powered boat's response to both aerodynamic and hydrodynamic effects while the powered boat is in powered motion.

  • Patent number: 6208436
Abstract: A document is optically scanned. A header page of the document is scanned and scan control information is extracted from the header page. The remaining pages of the document are then scanned into an image file. Upon completion of the scan, the image file is sent to a destination specified by the scan control information.

  • Patent number: 6173320
Abstract: Feedback is provided to a user during installation of electronic equipment. Prior to installation of the electronic equipment, a plurality of installation feedback lights are placed on a case of the electronic equipment. During installation of the electronic equipment after attempting performance of an installation step, a determination is made as to whether performance of the installation step was successful. When performance of the installation step was successful, notification is provided to an installer that the installation step was successful. The notification includes activating one of the installation feedback lights.

  • Patent number: 6138694
Abstract: A multiple stage wet processing platform includes a sealable enclosure, at least two processing modules positioned within the enclosure, at least one of them including a housing having an opening and a door moveable into position covering the opening, at least two processing vessels within the housing, and an intra-module robot within the housing and including a wafer support member, the intra-module robot moveable to a first position in which the support is disposed in a first one of the processing vessels and a second position in which the support is disposed in a second one of the processing vessels. An inter-module robot is positioned within the enclosure and is moveable between a first position adjacent to a first one of the modules and a second position adjacent to a second one of the modules.

  • Patent number: 6136724
Abstract: An apparatus and method for performing multiple wet processing steps on objects placed within a sealed chamber. The apparatus include a sealable chamber, at least one processing tank within the chamber, and preferably also includes an intrachamber robot configured to move objects to be treated within the chamber. Preferred embodiments utilize at least two processing tanks within the chamber. During use of these exemplary embodiments, objects to be treated are placed within the sealed chamber and the chamber is sealed to create a sealed interior environment. The objects are immersed in a first treatment fluid which is in a first one of the tanks, and then carried by the intrachamber robot from the first to the second tank where there are immersed in a second treatment fluid in the second tank. The objects may be moved back and forth between the tanks as needed in order to complete the process being performed. After processing is complete, the chamber is unsealed and the objects are removed from the chamber.

  • Patent number: 6115683
Abstract: A system for carrying out a content-based process for automatically scoring essays is disclosed. The system includes a computer; a data storage device; a parse tree file stored in the data storage device, the parse tree file being representative of an essay in a parse tree format; a morphology stripping program; a concept extraction program for creating, on the basis of a morphology-stripped parse tree file, a phrasal node file; and a rule matching scoring program for scoring the essay on the basis of the phrasal node file.

  • Patent number: 5681165
Abstract: A wide, shallow slot (60) is machined in the posterior surface (48) of a ceramic bracket (20). Thereafter a narrow, deep slot (70) is formed in the bracket (20). An elastomeric member (80) is positioned in the slot (70), and a plate (82) is secured in the slot (60) to close the slot (70). After the bracket (20) is mounted on the tooth (T) of a patient, the elastomeric member (80) is removed and is replaced by an appliance (A).
