Patent number: 9110491Abstract: The present invention is embodied in a conversion kit for a gas grilling appliance with rotary valves that avoids the need to use either a sleeve inserted in the inner chamber of the regulating plug or interchangeable knobs on the valve shaft. The conversion kit comprises a regulating device for each valve that can be readily installed by removing the existing control knob, placing the regulating device on the valve shaft, and replacing the control knob. The regulating device cooperates with a stop structure on the control panel to limit rotation of the control knob, when converting the grilling appliance from one type of gas to another.Type: GrantFiled: August 7, 2009Date of Patent: August 18, 2015Assignee: The Brinkmann CorporationInventor: Randy May

Patent number: 8842721Abstract: A Method and Apparatus for Channel Equalization in High Speed S-RIO based Communication Systems have been disclosed. By adjusting equalizer coefficients based on 8B10B error counts and an error threshold, a receiver may be dynamically adjusted. By adjusting transmitter pre-emphasis based on 8B10B error counts and an error threshold, a transmitter may be dynamically adjusted. Both the transmitter and receiver may be adjusted dynamically based on 8B10B error counts and different error thresholds.Type: GrantFiled: September 25, 2011Date of Patent: September 23, 2014Assignee: Integrated Device Technology, Inc.Inventors: Mohammad Shahanshah Akhter, Barry Everett Wood, Randy May

Publication number: 20070045543Abstract: A system and method are disclosed for the detection of water vapor in a natural gas background. The system includes a light source operating in a wavelength range such as, 1.877-1.901 ?m, 2.711-2.786 ?m, or 920-960 nm, passes through the natural gas to be detected by a detector. In one embodiment, the light source is a tunable diode laser and the moisture level is determined by harmonic spectroscopy. In other embodiments, a VCSEL laser is utilized.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 25, 2006Publication date: March 1, 2007Inventor: Randy May

Publication number: 20060268948Abstract: The method and system operate to maintain a widely tunable laser (WTL) at a selected transmission wavelength. To lock the WTL to an ITU grid line, a portion of the output beam from the WTL is routed through the etalon to split the beam into a transmission line for detection by an etalon fringe detector. Another portion of the beam is routed directly to a laser wavelength detector to determine the power of the beam. A wavelength-locking controller compares signals from the two detectors and adjusts the temperature of the etalon to align the wavelength of one of the transmission lines of the etalon with the wavelength of the output beam, then controls the WTL in a feedback loop to lock the laser to the etalon line. The wavelength-locking controller thereafter monitors the temperature of the etalon and keeps the temperature constant to prevent any wavelength drift attributable to the etalon.Type: ApplicationFiled: April 11, 2006Publication date: November 30, 2006Inventor: Randy May

Publication number: 20050198573Abstract: A tool for finding and accurately translating matching English text fragments within web pages into a specified language from pre-translated text stored in a database table. The tool uses intelligent search patterns, like code prefixes and suffixes, to accurately find the matching text patterns and replace them. The algorithm pays special attention to sentence structure, syntax and vocabulary, and finds a suitable foreign language sentence or word corresponding to the matched English text.Type: ApplicationFiled: February 24, 2005Publication date: September 8, 2005Inventors: Riaz Ali, David Skura, Siamak Safarian, Randy May, Fariba Haghighi, Naveed Khaliq

Patent number: 6739241Abstract: A drip coffee maker that may be used over an open flame, such as a flame from a camping stove. The coffee maker may include an upper portion having conventional automatic drip coffee maker components. To protect the upper portion components, a base for the coffee maker is designed to direct the open flame away from the plastic components and to dissipate heat from the open flame so that the plastic components will not burn. In addition, the coffee maker includes a wrap assembly and heat sink that are arranged to fit around a decanter for the coffee maker, and which are configured to dissipate heat from the flame and away from the upper coffee maker components.Type: GrantFiled: August 5, 2002Date of Patent: May 25, 2004Assignee: The Coleman Company, Inc.Inventors: Norris Richard Long, Randy May

Patent number: 6594946Abstract: A mosquito and biting insect attracting apparatus that includes a heat element (a thermal lure), a source of carbon dioxide (CO2), and a source of a chemical biting insect attractant, such as octenol. The heat for the thermal lure and the source of CO2 are provided by a propane flame. The thermal lure includes a structure that surrounds a propane burner and that is heated by the burner to a temperature that is similar to that of a small animal, such as 95 to 115 degrees Fahrenheit. The structure includes a series of baffles and conduction elements that permit the structure to have a substantially constant heat signature, which is desirable for attracting mosquitoes and other biting insects. A mechanism may be provided for trapping or killing the attracted mosquitoes, such as an adhesive substance or an electronic grid.Type: GrantFiled: October 17, 2001Date of Patent: July 22, 2003Assignee: The Coleman Company, Inc.Inventors: James A.
