  • Patent number: 9395163
Abstract: An ammunition round includes a slug having a cylindrical body portion and a slug casing having a cylindrical body with an open top end, a closed bottom end, and an interior cavity extending therebetween. The interior cavity is configured for receiving at least a portion of the cylindrical body portion of the slug. At least one groove extends circumferentially around at least a portion of one of the cylindrical body portion of the slug and the interior cavity of the slug casing. At least one projection extends circumferentially around at least a portion of the other of the cylindrical body portion of the slug and the interior cavity of the slug casing. The at least one projection is configured for being received within at least a portion of the at least one groove.

  • Patent number: 9372058
Abstract: A bullet has a cylindrical body portion and a conical tip monolithically formed with the body portion. The bullet is hollowed out to form an internal cavity. A sidewall defines the structure of the body portion and the conical tip. Bullet structure provides for a bore size, low weight, high velocity, and low recoil projectile having a full-bore size that does not have to expand to a larger diameter during firing in order to transfer its energy to a larger wound channel. In one embodiment, a plurality of recesses is provided on the body portion and extends through the sidewall. The recesses are disposed circumferentially in the radial direction and are offset longitudinally along a longitudinal axis of the bullet. The internal cavity includes a plurality of trusses extending in a radial direction. Instead of or in addition to, the trusses, the wall of the internal cavity may include one or more ridges.

  • Patent number: 7350465
Abstract: An extended range munition including a projectile having a generally cylindrical body includes a forward end and rearward end. The forward end includes a protruding member extending therefrom, thereby increasing the weight of said body and said forward end. The body is formed of a non-metallic material having a durometer hardness less than conventional metallic projectile.

  • Patent number: 7237490
Abstract: A close range munition for firing from a bore of a weapon. The munition includes a spherical projectile having a central core and a plurality of uniformly radially extending resilient filaments defining an outer diameter. The outer diameter of the projectile is greater than the diameter of the firing bore so as to compress the filament within the bore.
