  • Patent number: 7288002
Abstract: A coaxial cable connector includes a connector body having a rearward cable receiving end and a gripping ferrule fixed within the rearward cable receiving end of the connector body. The gripping ferrule includes at least one flexible finger deflected in a radially inward direction and extending in a forward direction opposite the rearward cable receiving end of the connector body for permitting forward insertion of a cable into the connector body and for gripping the cable to prevent rearward removal of the cable from the connector body.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: October 18, 2006
Date of Patent: October 30, 2007
Assignee: Thomas & Betts International, Inc.
    Inventors: Julio Rodrigues, Randy Ward
  • Publication number: 20070243759
Abstract: A coaxial cable connector including an annular post defining an axial bore therein, a cylindrical collar movably coupled to the post and a nut rotatably coupled to the post. The post has a shoulder portion defined by an outer surface and a tubular extension extending axially rearwardly from the shoulder portion and the collar has a forward end movably coupled to the outer surface of the post shoulder portion. The collar may also be movably coupled to a rearward interior surface of the rotatable nut in a first position and movable forward to a second position, wherein the collar is coupled to the outer surface of the annular post.
    Type: Application
    Filed: June 6, 2007

  • Patent number: 7063565
Abstract: A connector is provided for terminating coaxial cable. The connector includes a connector body having a cable receiving end and an opposed connection end. The connector includes a nut member, a collar, an inner post, and an axially movable locking sleeve. The annular sleeve is movable back and forth within a range between a first open position and a second closed position. In the open position, the inner post extends outwardly beyond a cable receiving end of the locking sleeve such that the post is exposed for easy insertion of the prepared end of a coaxial cable. Upon insertion of the prepared end of the coaxial cable, the annular sleeve can be moved or expanded into the closed position to allow the inserted cable to be clamped securely in the inner post and the annular sleeve of the connector body.
