    Abstract: A solar-power roof component including a sheet metal panel preferably configured for installation adjacent non-solar metal roofing, the sheet metal panel having a recess containing an array of solar cells encapsulated in a two-layer encapsulant made up of a bottom darker tinted layer and a top less tinted layer. The upper surface of the sheet metal panel and the encapsulant preferably have ridges and grooves configured to mimic surface texture of wood shakes and the gaps between such shakes.
