  • Patent number: 10629199
Abstract: This disclosure describes, in part, techniques for implementing voice-enabled devices in vehicle environments to facilitate voice interaction with vehicle computing devices. Due to the differing communication capabilities of existing vehicle computing devices, the techniques described herein describe different communication topologies for facilitating voice interaction with the vehicle computing devices. In some examples, the voice-enabled device may be communicatively coupled to a user device, which may communicate with a remote speech-processing system to determine and perform operations responsive to the voice commands, such as conducting phone calls using loudspeakers of the vehicle computing device, streaming music to the vehicle computing device, and so forth.
    Type: Grant

  • Patent number: 9338747
Abstract: Approaches in accordance with various embodiments can utilize loss of service and call drop information to anticipate connection events between a computing device and a cellular or data network. The utilize loss of service and call drop information is compiled from past connection events from many devices and is utilizes by the computing device to determine areas historically associated with greater connection reliability (or strength of connectivity) upon at least detecting a condition indicative of a connection event. Accordingly, a user can be notified upon entering or moving toward an area associated with poor connection reliability. The user can further be directed to an area associated with greater connection reliability to ensure sufficient network coverage to carry out a phone call.

  • Patent number: 9218108
Abstract: This disclosure describes systems and methods related to determining and providing battery charging metrics for an electronic device. In one embodiment, one or more processors may determine the capacity of the battery of an electronic device and a first battery charge level. A charging rate associated with the battery charger may be determined. A battery charging time may be calculated based at least in part on the battery capacity, the charging rate, the first battery charging time, and a second battery charging time. A representation of a charging status associated with the battery may be generated.

  • Publication number: 20050143107
Abstract: A method for notifying a broadcast/multicast control (BMC) entity of service unavailability in a wireless transmit/receive unit (WTRU) is disclosed. When a user activates broadcast/multicast services (BMS), the WTRU receives BMS messages in accordance with the BMS schedule. A radio resources control (RRC) entity constantly monitors whether BMS is available in a cell. If the RRC entity detects the BMS service is not available, the RRC entity sends a message to the BMC entity to inform the unavailability of the BMS.
