    Abstract: A side curtain airbag for providing occupant protection in a laterally displaced front crash. The side curtain airbag in the installed state extends from the A-pillar to at least the B-pillar of the vehicle. In the region of the airbag assigned to the head of an occupant sitting on the front seat of the vehicle, the airbag forms at least two chambers located one behind the other, in the inflated state of the airbag, the maximum clearance of the side walls in the front chamber is larger than in the rear chamber.
