  • Patent number: 11379584
Abstract: A method for detection of harmful process intent in an intent-based production process includes: providing a machine-readable production model linking an intent model, correlating to process intent, including production process functions, constraints on measurable properties on the production process functions, and/or production process function sequences required for the production process, and a process model, correlating to process knowledge comprising a production process behavior; determining a safety library of at least one safety process intent, the safety library being protected by security mechanisms to be maintained outside of regular intent-based engineering mechanisms and operation mechanisms; evaluating changes of process intent in view of potentially harmful process intent dependent on the at least one safety process intent; and providing a report of potentially harmful process intent for auditing based on the potentially harmful process intent.

  • Publication number: 20220091594
Abstract: The invention relates to a method and system to generate control logic for performing industrial processes with a controller in a process plant. The method includes receiving a control narrative comprising one or more control requirements of the industrial process, and extracting a plurality of control entities and a plurality of set points, from the control narrative using one or more sets of predetermined regular expressions and one or more models. The method further includes identifying a set of inputs, outputs and control elements from the plurality of control entities using a domain dictionary, detecting a plurality of actions from the control narrative using an intent classifier, identifying a relationship between the set of inputs, outputs and control elements, the plurality of set points, and the plurality of actions, and generating based on the relationship identified the control logic for the controller to perform the process.

  • Publication number: 20220066423
Abstract: A method (600) for configuring one or more components of a process plant includes receiving (602) a change request (226) and receiving (604) a system dependency graph (228) corresponding to the process plant. The method (600) further includes selecting (606) a subset of components (230) among the plurality of components based on configuration of the process plant and identifying (608) a subset of nodes (232) among the plurality of nodes by traversing a path in the system dependent graph (228). The method (600) also includes computing (610) an impact parameter (234) value based on a traversed path and computing (612) a plurality of change parameter values (236) based on the traversed path. The method (600) further includes determining (614) an effort estimate (210) based on the impact parameter (234) value and the plurality of change parameter values (236) using a machine learning technique.

  • Publication number: 20210397173
Abstract: An intent-based automation engineering method for automation of a production process includes: receiving an intent model, correlating to process intent, including production process functions, constraints on measurable properties on the production process functions, and/or production process function sequences required for the production process, as a received intent model; receiving a process model, correlating to process knowledge including a production process behavior, as a received process model; determining a machine-readable production model linking the received intent model to the received process model as a provided production model; and determining a control strategy for controlling the production process dependent on the provided production model as a determined control strategy.

  • Publication number: 20210349454
Abstract: A computer-implemented method for generating a construction plan for a modular plant that is to execute a given industrial process includes: providing a flow chart of the industrial process, the flow chart including a sequence of actions, each action having at least one input for an educt to be processed by the action and at least one output for a product produced by the action, at least one product of one action being an educt for another action; providing at least one catalogue of module descriptions, each module description characterizing at least the educt inputs and the product outputs of at least one physical process module, and physical actions performed within the physical process module; and decomposing the flow chart into functional units with at least one educt input, at least one product output, and one or more actions leading from the one or more educts.

  • Publication number: 20210349447
Abstract: In an embodiment, the present disclosure discloses a method and a module for controlling data transfer in a manufacturing plant. The IoT module is configured to receive a request for a plurality of parameters from a second application from one or more applications. The request is made by a first application from the one or more applications. The IoT module determines status of the requested parameters. The status indicates if the requested parameters are authorized for sharing. Further, the IoT module transfers only the authorized parameters to the first module based on the status. Thus, the present disclosure provides a method and a IoT module for sharing data securely within the manufacturing plant.
