The valve member is configured to close the valve when the valve is in a closed operating state. The valve member has a valve opening configured to be closed when the valve is in the closed operating state and to provide fluid passage through the valve when the valve is in an open operating state. The valve member is overmolded into the valve housing. The valve is beneficially used as a valve element of a port of a cap for a fluid container, in particular for a container for a medical fluid.
