  • Patent number: 10688937
Abstract: A ladder latching device for a rear deploy, tilting type ladder lack that automatically extends and retracts a latch pin as ladders are loaded onto and removed from the roof of a work vehicle. The latching device has an L-shaped lever with a spring biased first leg supporting a latch pin and a second leg with a roller for cooperating with a rail of the rack's stationary bed. The latch pin is made to extend through apertures in a stop post and over a rung of the ladder to trap it only when the roller remains in contact with the stationary rail. During tilting of the load support member, the latch pin retracts.

  • Patent number: 9796340
Abstract: A ladder rack for a motor vehicle similar to what is shown in U.S. Pat. No. 6,764,268, but differing therefrom in that the top surfaces of the stationary bar member and the movable bar member are coplanar and in a side-by-side relationship when the load being carried is atop the vehicle's roof rather than being stacked, one-above-the-other, as in the prior art. As such, the ladder rack of the present invention exhibits a reduced height profile.

  • Patent number: 7661226
Abstract: The present invention is a system and method for an easy installation storm door for installation in a home. The door system may include a door panel that is mounted onto two vertical z-bar frames such that the door system can be installed in a left hinge or right hinge format. The z-bar frames are precut at the factory to be shorter than a standard doorframe so that they do not have to be cut during installation. Also included in the system are top and bottom expanders that fit onto a top and bottom side of the door panel so as to selectively adjust the vertical height of the door panel. The top and bottom expanders further insure a reasonable air and moisture barrier between the interior and exterior of the home. The door system further includes a lock assembly that is pre-installed such that it can be utilized whether the door system is installed in a left hinge or right hinge format.

  • Publication number: 20050081463
Abstract: A door with a moveable window sash and a method of operating the same. The door includes vertical jambs with vertical channels. A window sash is movable in the vertical channels. A retractable screen assembly is attached to the door. The retractable screen assembly includes a roller, a flexible screen attached at a first end to the roller and at a second end to the movable window sash, and a biasing mechanism adapted to apply a continuous torque to the roller. The torque generates a positioning force on the window sash equal to at least 50% of the force of gravity acting on a window sash, such that the window sash can be positioned at an infinite number of locations along the vertical channels.

  • Patent number: 5934351
Abstract: A slatted blind (10) includes a headrail (12) with a pair of ladder cords (16, 18) depending therefrom with slats (14) supported on the wefts (44, 52) extending between the warps (42a,b, 50a,b) of each cord and further includes a tilt mechanism (20) to extend one warp of each cord and to retract the other in order to tilt the slats. The preferred tilt mechanism (20) includes a pair of slides (60, 62) positioned on the bottom wall (26) of the headrail (12). The ends of the warps (42a,b, 50a,b) are coupled with the slides (60, 62) on opposed sides of respective cord holes (82, 90) defined through the slides (60, 62) and extend therethrough and also through respective cord openings (30, 32) in the bottom wall. Back and forth shifting of the slides (60, 62) along the bottom wall (26) alternately extend one warp of each cord and retract the other in order to tilt the slats.
