  • Patent number: 11816551
Abstract: One or more communication capabilities and a plurality of versions of communication terms of a cognitive interface are identified. A probability of a particular user reaction for each communication term version is determined. A desired outcome of an interaction between a user and the cognitive interface is determined. A first communication term version is selected from the plurality of communication term versions based on the determined probabilities of the communication term versions and the desired outcome. An interaction between the user and the cognitive interface is created using the selected first communication term version. The interaction is sent to a communication device associated with the user.

  • Patent number: 11080527
Abstract: An approach is provided in which a lens system captures a set of sensory data corresponding to an area proximate to a user wearing glasses. • Patent number: 11037558
Abstract: A method, apparatus, system, and computer program product for generating an audio communication. An urgency for a user is determined by a computer system in response to detecting a trigger event in a verbal communication from the user. A frequency modulator is selected by the computer system from a plurality of frequency modulators based on the urgency determined to form a selected frequency modulator. A frequency of words in an audio communication is modulated by the computer system using the selected frequency modulator to form a modulated audio communication, wherein the modulated audio communication comprises a natural language response generated in response to the trigger event. The modulated audio communication is sent by the computer system to an audio output device.

Abstract: Provided is a method, a computer program product, and a system for associating mathematical functions to numerical text in a natural language sample. The method includes inputting a natural language sample from a text dataset and identifying a numerical text within the natural language sample. The method further includes displaying a mathematical function corresponding to the numerical text to be selected. The mathematical function can be selected via graphical user interface displayed on a computing device. The method also includes receiving and inserting the mathematical function as a feature into a feature vector of the natural language sample and selecting an output label for the natural language sample. The output label relates to the mathematical function selected for the numerical text. The method further includes exporting the natural language sample into a labeled dataset which can be used to train a machine learning model.

  • Patent number: 10984028
Abstract: Embodiments provide a temporal sensitive cognitive interface that determines whether a temporal data value of a response to a user query is fixed or variable over time; determine a time lapse from a current time to a time of generation of a variable one of the temporal data values; generate a first presentation of the response to the user that includes a (first) text word modifier that indicates a quality of certainty of the temporal data value in response to determining that the time lapse does not exceed a confidence threshold that is specified for an attribute of the response temporal data value; and generate another, different (second) presentation of the response to the user that includes a different (second) text word modifier that indicates a quality of uncertainty of the temporal data value in response to determining that the time lapse exceeds the confidence threshold.

  • Patent number: 10606951
Abstract: Approaches presented herein enable optimizing resource allocation to a bid request response based on a cognitive analysis of natural language artifacts. More specifically, a bid request and a plurality of supporting artifacts in a natural language are obtained. A cognitive analysis of the request and supporting artifacts is performed to extract a set of information entities. The extracted information entities are normalized using a lexical-relations based graph database to classify the set of extracted information entities as standardized concepts. A subset of the set of the standardized concepts is identified as a set of parameters corresponding to a set of predetermined variables. Each variable of the set of predetermined variables is weighted according to a likelihood that the variable indicates a relevance of a resource. A probability that a particular resource is relevant is determined based on the weighting and that resource is assigned to the bid request response.

  • Patent number: 10609269
Abstract: Aspects of the present invention provide an approach for controlling an operation of a video capture device (e.g., in a cognitive robotic device). In an embodiment, a set of conditions is obtained using a cognitive computer system. Each of the obtained conditions includes a specific individual and a potential action that may be performed by the individual. The cognitive computer system analyzes video being captured by the video capture device to determine whether the video satisfies any of the set of conditions (e.g., the individual in the video is performing the action). If the cognitive computer system determines that one of the set of conditions has been satisfied, the operation of the video capture device (e.g., capture rate of the video) is modified to account for the satisfied condition.
