Abstract: The invention relates to a flexible pipe. Such flexible pipe has a length and comprises a tubular inner sealing sheath surrounding an axis and defining a bore; at least one pressure armor and at least one tensile armor comprising one or more layers. The pressure armor and the tensile armor are non-bonded relative to each other. In the flexible pipe of the invention, the pressure armor comprises a sandwich structure comprising a polymer structure and a first and a second strength imparting layer arranged on either side of said polymer structure and locked or bonded to the polymer structure. The flexible pipe has a high strength and can be manufactured in a cost effective manner.
